Three players hitting hat-tricks on the same Premier League weekend has certainly helped me narrow down my stars of Matchday 4!

Read on to see who made my final five.

Joe Worrall (Nottingham Forest)

I've picked out Joe Worrall for his efforts in Nottingham Forest's impressive 1-0 win at Chelsea but really, it was an outstanding team performance.

When you go away to a top side, 1-0 is probably the best result you can hope for realistically. Everyone has to be at their best and do their jobs perfectly.

Worrall has been a mainstay through Forest's rise and put in a captain's performance here after what had been a challenging week for him off the field.

The fact that most people wouldn't have Forest in their three clubs likely to go down is testament to what a great job Steve Cooper is doing at the City Ground.

Heung-Min Son (Tottenham)

Heung-Min Son's hat-trick against Burnley was a reminder that even without Harry Kane, Tottenham still have a world-class finisher in their ranks.

It wasn't so long ago that the South Korean was winning the Premier League's Golden Boot and even in the games he doesn't score, it's rarely through wastefulness — when he gets chances, he converts.

Spurs have been very impressive so far under Ange Postecoglou. The volume of goals they are scoring will drop off at some point but they carry so much threat.

If they continue to tighten up at the back, there's no reason why they can't have a brilliant season.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

Erling Haaland was up to his old tricks, scoring three in Manchester City's 5-1 rout of Fulham despite having a relatively quiet game.

Haaland is never going to be the type of forward looking to link up the play at every opportunity and work back. He only cares about scoring goals.

He will be in the right position 99% of the time when it comes to finishing off moves — and trust me, any manager would swap work rate for his efficiency.

I never used to judge Sergio Aguero on his overall contribution. If he put the ball in the net, that was all we cared about!

Evan Ferguson (Brighton)

Evan Ferguson's hat-trick may have been the most impressive of the lot given the quality of opposition and the range of finishes on show.

All the build-up to the game surrounded Newcastle's big names and Brighton's capture of Ansu Fati but Ferguson stepped up to become the matchwinner in outstanding fashion.

It's hard to believe he's only 18. There's a lot of expectation on his shoulders now at both club and international level but I think he's in the right place to shine.

Between the league and Europe, Roberto De Zerbi will have chance to rest him and look after him — and I don't see the Seagulls looking to sell him any time soon.

player

Declan Rice

All the talk will be about his winning goal but I thought Declan Rice was outstanding from the first whistle to the last against Manchester United.

He's already imposed himself on Arsenal's midfield, reproducing the kind of performances he's been turning in at West Ham for years but with higher quality team-mates around him.

As happy as he was with the Hammers, Declan has always been destined to challenge for the biggest honours and play at the top level.

He's got the perfect temperament too and is someone you find yourself willing to do well.
