England's pulsating 2-0 win over Germany at a bouncing Wembley Stadium teed up a quarter-final tie with Ukraine at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening.

Raheem Sterling grabbed his third goal of the tournament and England captain Harry Kane broke his duck, while the Three Lions extended their run of clean sheets to six games in all competitions. 

Ukraine overcame Sweden 2-1 in a gruelling round of 16 encounter at Hampden Park, Artem Dovbyk stooping to head a dramatic winner in stoppage time of extra-time.

England have played Ukraine just once before in the finals of a major tournament, winning a Euro 2012 group game 1-0 with a goal from Wayne Rooney. 

Ukraine captain Andriy Yarmolenko was on the losing side that day but with two goals and a couple of assists already in this year's competition, the West Ham winger will be looking to wreak some revenge.

The two countries have met seven times previously, England winning four with two draws and one win for Ukraine. 

Switzerland's reward for a stunning penalty shootout win over France is to face three-time champions Spain in St Petersburg in the first of Friday evening's quarter-finals.

The late game is the tie of the round as Belgium take on free-scoring Italy at Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena. 

The Czech Republic tackle Denmark in Baku in the first of Saturday's two matches while Ukraine stand in England's way as the evening's action continues in Rome.
