It is another busy weekend around Europe and Sunday’s slate is stacked with sides facing must-win games, as with the end in sight, the pressure is on teams chasing European spots and below we have picked out five to deliver.

Sunday, 1:30pm

These two sides are both in the running to make the European play-offs in the Eredivisie, with Sparta Rotterdam just outside the top eight spots, but Utrecht are in a good position and they can build on that by extending a fine run of form.

The hosts have won four of their last five games and they host a Sparta side who are winless in all of their visits to the eight sides above them, suffering six defeats.

Back the hosts to extend their seven-game winning run at home.

Sunday, 6pm

Moreirense are pushing for a respectable sixth-place finish in Portugal’s top-flight and they have put themselves on course with a fantastic record against the teams below them.

While the visitors have lost to each of the top five on the road, they have won seven of 11 trips outside of that.

Casa Pia have lost six of their eight home meetings with top-half teams so far, which puts Moreirense in a good position to secure all three points.

Sunday, 7:45pm

These two sides are battling for the bonus Champions League spot in Serie A, although fourth isn’t entirely out of the question.

Both teams featured in the Europa League semi-finals in midweek, with Roma exiting the competition away to Bayer Leverkusen.

Atalanta were at home on Thursday night and they beat Marseille 3-0 to secure a fifth win in six starts.

While the Europa League final gives them a chance to qualify for the Champions League, they can beat a Roma side who are winless in four to all but wrap up a place in the competition.

Adi Hutter has Monaco in a good position to secure a Champions League group stage spot.

Sunday, 8pm

Publicidad

Bottom side Clermont have lost 17 times in Ligue 1 this term and they should struggle against a Lyon side who have pushed themselves into the mix for Europe.

Lyon have won four of their last five, scoring 15 times in that run, with Clermont winless at home to top-half teams and losing half of their home games this term, so back an away win.

Sunday, 8pm

Monaco need a result to wrap up a top-three finish and a guaranteed spot in the Champions League proper. They have done enough in recent weeks, winning five of their last six starts.

Montpellier shouldn’t be too tough to handle, given they have lost each of their five meetings with the top three this term, including a 2-0 loss when the pair last met.
