Tottenham have had two weeks to forget the drubbing they took at Fulham and will be looking to get their top-four ambitions back on track at home to Luton.

But even though the Hatters are in the thick of the relegation scrap, they are not giving an inch in their fight to stay up.

Team news

Radu Dragusin is set to keep his place if Mickey van de Ven has not recovered from a hamstring problem.

Richarlison is, however, fit again to start up top in Ange Postecoglou’s 4-2-3-1 formation.

Luton are ravaged by injuries, with winger Chiedozie Ogbene the latest to fall after picking up an injury away with Republic of Ireland.

Alfie Doughty is set to return on the left-side of midfield in Rob Edwards’ preferred 3-4-3 set-up.

The stats

Twenty-three of Tottenham’s 28 Premier League games this season and 20 of Luton’s 29 have produced 2.5 goals or more.

Publicidad

Spurs have won six of their last seven Premier League home games, have found the net at home in the league in every match since January 2023, though they have not kept a home clean sheet in the league since October.

Luton are without a win in nine matches in all competitions, although both teams have found the net in all nine. During those nine games the Hatters have conceded 28 goals.

They have conceded 34 away goals, the most in the Premier League this season.

Prediction

Ange Postecoglou has had two weeks to stew over his side’s desperate 3-0 loss at Fulham before the international break, a result which lost them vital ground in the top-four race.

Back at home where they win far more than they lose he will expect amends to be made, especially against a Luton side who cannot keep a clean sheet for love nor money.

To that end, neither can Tottenham, which is why over 3.5 goals looks obvious. Double that up by backing Tottenham to win and over 3.5 goals.

Postecoglou has all his attacking options available with Richarlison fit again and it is hard to believe Luton’s injury-ravaged backline is going to stem the inevitable tide that is coming their way.

Spurs have notfailed to find the net in a home league game in 14 months and Luton, with the worst defensive away record in the division, are going to struggle to keep them out.
