Frank excited to unlock new signing Thiago's potential at Brentford
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank is excited to see what new signing Igor Thiago can do when he joins from Club Brugge in the summer.
The Bees officially unveiled their new forward on Wednesday evening, with the 22-year-old penning a five-year contract in West London with an option for a further year.
Frank said: "I'm very pleased that we have been proactive as a club, big credit to Matthew Benham, Phil Giles and Lee Dykes for the hard work they have done.
"We are ahead of the curve. We have signed a key player for a key position.
"Thiago is a very exciting striker who fits the role in our team. He is hard working and a very good pressing player.
"He is also a physical presence, very good in the box and can link the play.
"He's progressing well in the Belgian league, so there is big potential and we are looking forward to seeing him in a red and white shirt."
Having started his career in his homeland of Brazil with Cruzeiro, the powerful striker earned a move to Bulgarian champions Ludogorets in 2022.
There, he scored 15 goals and provided eight assists in 32 league matches, paving the way for his transfer to Belgian Pro League side Club Brugge.
Since joining last summer, Thiago has made a huge impact, scoring 16 times in the league and recording a further two assists.
Brentford may have one eye on the future by signing the exciting prospect, with rumours around Ivan Toney's future continuing to rumble on towards the summer transfer window.
