Hull City will be aiming to get their Championship play-off push back on track when they visit the division's bottom club Rotherham on Tuesday.

The Tigers have slipped two points off the top-six positions following Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Swansea, which was their fifth loss across their last eight Championship games.

Rotherham know all about losing matches, with the Millers having suffered their 17th defeat of the campaign at Leeds on Saturday, a result that has left them rooted to the bottom of the table and a full 12 points adrift of safety.

Team news

Rotherham's fading survival hopes have not been helped by a lengthy injury list, with Cohen Bramall,

Grant Hall, Fred Onyedinma, Andre Green, Tyler Blackett and Shane Ferguson all set to remain unavailable to head coach Leam Richardson.

Hull will once again have to do without on-loan Manchester City forward Liam Delap, who remains sidelined with a knee problem.

Meanwhile, Jean Michael Seri lifted the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast on Sunday and will not be back in time for this one.

The stats

Rotherham have only won three of their 30 matches in this season's second tier, but 15 of the 19 points they have picked up have come on home soil at New York Stadium.

The Millers tally of 25 goals is the second-lowest in the division and they have drawn a blank in four of their last five matches across all competitions.

Hull have lost five of their last eight matches in the Championship, but they have won two of their previous three, with both successes coming by 1-0 scorelines.

The Tigers are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Rotherham – a run that dates back to December 2015 – with this season's reverse meeting on Humberside ending in a 4-1 victory for Liam Rosenior's team.

Hull's Jean Michael Seri will miss this match after lifting the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast on Sunday

Prediction

It has been a miserable season to date for Rotherham, who are on a typically-long seven-match winless run since beating Middlesbrough on Boxing Day.

With just three league wins all season and having scored only once across their last five matches in all competitions, it is difficult to be positive regarding the hosts' chances.

One note of comfort for Rotherham may be Hull's up-and-down form. The Tigers have lost five of their last eight league games and each of their previous three have featured no more than a solitary goal.

The good news for Hull is that two of those three fixtures have ended 1-0 in their favour and a similarly low-scoring victory could be achieved by the Tigers when they head to South Yorkshire.
