Ipswich remained in the relegation zone after last Sunday’s 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United, but they have the look of a competitive top-flight side and will be striving to extend their three-game unbeaten sequence against Nottingham Forest in the East Midlands.

Forest have taken 19 points from 12 games which is an excellent return for a side touted by many as potential relegation candidates.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have suffered back-to-back defeats including last Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Arsenal where they barely laid a glove on their opponents.

Forest have had mixed fortunes on home soil, but they are odds-on favourites for a return to winning ways.

Team news

Morgan Gibbs-White (ankle), Elliot Anderson (foot) and Anthony Elanga (shoulder) are doubts for the home side, who must make do without Danilo (ankle) and Ibrahim Sangare (hamstring).

Chris Wood was used as a substitute in last Saturday’s 3-0 loss to the Gunners, but is widely expected to return to the starting XI.

For Town, Kalvin Phillips, Ben Johnson both (knocks), Jacob Greaves (thigh) and Nathan Broadhead (groin) will have to be assessed, but Janoi Donacien (ankle), George Hirst (knee) and Chiedozie Ogbene (Achilles) are unavailable.

However, head coach Kieran McKenna may be happy to stick with the players responsible for last Sunday’s strong performance at home to Manchester United.

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has seen his side earn two draws and a win in their last three games.

The stats

Forest have scored the first goal in five of six Premier League home games this season, but have only won two of them.

Publicidad

Each of Forest’s last four games have featured at least three goals.

Four of Ipswich’s 12 matches this season have finished 1-1 and Town have not kept a clean sheet in their last eight matches.

Prediction

Ipswich have taken five points from their last three games and can wrap up an unbeaten November by drawing with Forest at the City Ground.

The Tractor Boys have won only one of their 12 matches, but recent performances indicate that they are getting the grips with Premier League football.

McKenna’s outfit were impressive 2-1 winners at Tottenham and they followed with a 1-1 draw at home to Manchester United when they recovered from the disappointment of conceding a second minute goal.

While Ipswich look like a team on the up, Forest are struggling to live up the standards set in the early months of the campaign.

The Tricky Trees were uncompetitive in last Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Arsenal and they may lack the necessary guile to force a victory this weekend.
