Leeds will hope to extend their unbeaten run to four matches when they host Oxford at Elland Road on Saturday in the Championship.

The Whites have fallen three points behind Sheffield United after last week's 1-1 draw against Preston, but they are still in a good position ahead of kick-off.

They have also won their last eight home games in the Championship and have conceded a mere two goals in the process, keeping six clean sheets.

Oxford sacked former boss Buckingham on Sunday after a poor run of results and the U's are only one point above the relegation zone at present.

Team news

Whites midfielder Ilia Gruev is still sidelined but could return to action in January, while left-back Junior Firpo is also expected to miss out as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Publicidad

Oxford midfielder Stuart Findlay is still sidelined with an ankle issue.

The stats

Despite a disappointing 1-1 draw against Preston away from home last weekend, Daniel Farke's team are unbeaten three and will be confident upon their return to Elland Road.

Leeds have won eight games in a row at home, keeping a clean sheet in six of those matches.

The hosts have only lost once at home all season in the Championship, with Burnley recording a 1-0 win in West Yorkshire in September.

Oxford are winless in their last six games in the second tier and they have conceded two or more goals in four of those fixtures.

Publicidad

The U's' only previous win at Elland Road came back in February 1994 when they won an FA Cup tie 3-2.

Prediction

Farke's team failed to perform to their full potential at Deepdale last weekend but, like all good sides, they found a way to grab a share of the spoils with a last-gasp equaliser.

Leeds are still firmly in contention for automatic promotion and they have a squad littered with talent.

Oxford, who achieved promotion from League One last season, have struggled to adapt to the demands of the second tier, whereas their hosts came within 90 minutes of promotion to the Premier League.

Farke has gotten a tune out of his team at home all season and they have scored two or more goals in all eight of their consecutive victories at Elland Road.

With Oxford still recovering from the departure of Buckingham and in poor form, they will do well to keep Leeds at bay and the Whites should rack up the goals in both halves.
