Haaland goals remind Lescott of veteran superstar Zlatan
Manchester City goal machine Erling Haaland reminds Joleon Lescott of veteran superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Haaland has netted a staggering 30 goals in 27 Premier League outings since joining the champions from Borussia Dortmund last summer.
With City in contention to retain the title, lift the FA Cup and claim a first Champions League trophy, the Norwegian has already repaid his £51million transfer fee.
And Lescott, 40, believes Haaland shares similar attributes to serial winner Ibrahimovic, who continues to defy Father Time with AC Milan at the age of 41.
Speaking during a visit to LiveScore HQ, the former City and England defender said: "Haaland's numbers are ridiculous.
"He has a natural instinct for picking up the right positions because you can't teach that — he's so efficient.
"His athleticism is unmatched in the Premier League. I'd compare him to Ibrahimovic in terms of some of the goals he's scored this season."
Haaland, 22, scored an outrageous bicycle kick as City won 4-1 at Southampton last weekend.
He followed that strike with another goal earlier this week as Pep Guardiola's men beat Bayern Munich 3-0 at the Etihad in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
And as Haaland and Co prepare to host Leicester on Saturday evening, Lescott cannot wait to see the striker continue to bulge the net as City chase glory on three fronts.
The Premier League and FA Cup winner added: "Nobody else in the league scores that goal he scored against Southampton.
"He deserves a huge amount of credit because he's obviously worked hard on that side of things."
