- Luton lost their first Premier League match 4-1 against Brighton
- Both teams have scored in four of Chelsea's last five home league games
- Recommended bet: Chelsea to win and both teams to score

After drawing 1-1 with Liverpool in their season opener in London, Chelsea were humbled in a 3-1 defeat to West Ham last time out, showing Mauricio Pochettino has plenty of work to do with the Blues.

But this weekend presents Chelsea with a great opportunity to claim three points as they come up against a Luton team who lost their opening Premier League fixture 4-1 at Brighton, before their first home game of the season with Burnley was postponed due to stadium works.

Team news

Christopher Nkunku, Armando Broja, Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Carney Chukwuemeka make up a lengthy injury list for hosts Chelsea.

Reece Burke and Gabriel Osho have been ruled out for Luton, while Dan Potts and Jordan Clark are also doubts.

The stats

Rob Edwards' Luton had the second-best away record in the Championship but were thrashed 4-1 at Brighton in their Premier League opener

Six of Chelsea's 11 league wins in the Premier League last term came at Stamford Bridge, where they are unbeaten in their last three league fixtures.

Despite having the second-best away record in the Championship last season, Luton lost their first Premier League away game 4-1 against Brighton on the opening weekend of the season.

The Hatters also scored in 18 of their 23 road games in the second tier last term.

Prediction

Kenilworth Road was not up to scratch for Luton's first Premier League home game against Burnley last weekend, meaning they have to start the season with successive away fixtures.

The first game did not end well as the Hatters were swept aside 4-1 by Brighton, allowing the Seagulls 27 shots, 12 of which were on target, and 71% of the ball.

It was a dominant performance from Albion and showed just how big a job Luton boss Rob Edwards has on his hands this season.

But many Luton fans will be happy to just be in the promised land of the Premier League and it is fixtures like this weekend's trip to Chelsea which they will have been looking forward to the most.

The more optimistic Hatters fan may suggest that Chelsea are there for the taking after picking up just one point from their first two games against Liverpool and West Ham.

But despite the poor run of form from the Blues, they have the players to hurt Luton, who have failed to add much top-flight experience to their ranks this summer.

A Chelsea win looks likely but, that said, the Blues may not keep out Luton entirely.

The Hatters failed to score in only five Championship away games last term and could breach a Chelsea rearguard which shipped three goals against West Ham last time out.
