Brentford to win

Two sides at the wrong end of the Premier League table clash at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, when 19th-place Burley take on fellow strugglers Brentford.

With just 10 games to remaining, time is running out for the Clarets to save themselves from an instant return to the Championship, as they sit 10 points adrift of Nottingham Forest in 17th.

As for Brentford, their top-flight status is not secured yet and they head into the contest in 15th position, five points clear of the bottom three and a without a win in five matches.

Team news

Sergio Reguilon should be available to boost Brentford's defensive options

Burnley remain without the services of Lyle Foster and Luca Koleosho, who are both pencilled in for an early May return, while Nathan Redmond and Aaron Ramsey are out for the rest of the season.

Jordan Beyer is making good progress in his recovery from a thigh injury and is pushing for a comeback at the end of this month.

Brentford's treatment room remains overcrowded with Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry and Ben Mee all ruled out for the rest of the season, while Aaron Hickey and Kevin Schade are not expected back until May.

Ethan Pinnock and Bryan Mbeumo are still a couple of weeks away from returning to the first-team fold, but there is some positive news with Sergio Reguilon and Christian Norgaard set to be available for selection.

The stats

Burnley have the worst home record in the division, collecting just five points, while their tally of 34 goals conceded at Turf Moor is bettered only by rock-bottom Sheffield United (42).

The Clarets have conceded 62 goals in total, leaving just the Blades (74) ahead of them in this department, and Vincent Kompany's side are the second-lowest scorers in the division with 27.

Burnley have gone 11 matches in all competitions without a win, having last tasted success on December 23 when beating Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage.

Brentford head into this contest without a win in five games, although they have faced Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham, Chelsea and Arsenal in those fixtures.

The Bees did win October's reverse fixture at the Gtech Community Stadium 3-0, that being one of four clean sheets they have kept in the league this term.

Prediction

Burnley have not coped with the step up from the Championship to the Premier League this season and another nail could be stuck into their relegation coffin when Brentford come to town.

While the Bees are not in great form, they have endured a tough run of fixtures and a trip to Turf Moor will be welcomed by Thomas Frank's side troops, who know a victory would be massive in the battle for survival.

The Clarets have been far too exposed at the back, conceded two or more goals in each of their last seven assignments and the likes of Ivan Toney and Yoane Wissa will be relishing the chance to take on this fragile defence.

Burnley may already be planning for life back in England's second tier and Brentford can help them on their way by securing a vital victory that will edge them closer to another season in the top tier.
