Aggie Beever-Jones is widely tipped to play for the Lionesses sooner rather than later

Chelsea forward Aggie Beever-Jones is doing her best to stay level-headed — despite a stellar six weeks that have led to calls for a place in England's senior squad.

Beever-Jones is on a hot streak, scoring five times in as many Women's Super League matches for the Blues, solidifying her supersub status and resulting in a Player of the Month nomination for November.

Lionesses boss Sarina Wiegman recently revealed Beever-Jones was "in [the] conversation" for a call-up but felt it was too early for the 20-year-old, who is facing tough competition for attacking positions.

Still, Beever-Jones, who tackles Spain with her Under-23 team-mates in Burton today, said: "I think we're at the age right now where I constantly play every day like Sarina is watching.

"I think her scouts are probably everywhere and at every game. We play every week as if they're watching because ultimately they are.

"Grace [Clinton] and Khiara [Keating] have been called up and we're in the same age group.

"Every day we are always trying to better ourselves."

England will hope to wrap up an unbeaten 2023 with at least a point against Spain before resuming their European Championship campaign against the Netherlands in February.

Beever-Jones joined Chelsea's academy after she was scouted at a local park around age six and was pleasantly shocked when Emma Hayes offered her a first pro contract in the summer of 2021.

Loan spells with Bristol City and Everton followed until she returned to Chelsea for what will be the last season with Hayes in charge.

Beever-Jones added: “I think everyone knows Emma is a wonderful coach and a person as well. It's sad she's leaving but we're all so happy for her.

"And like she said, she's just happy. I think that's the main thing. If she's happy, we are obviously going to be happy for her."
