LiveScore Racing Preview: Worcester, September 13, 2021
Just a lone jumps meeting among Monday's four scheduled meetings across the UK and it comes at Worcester.
Their seven-race card gets underway at 1.15pm and run through until 4.35pm.
We have selected five horses for you to follow.
1.15pm - MansionBet Bet 10 Get 20 Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase Division 1 (2m7f)
Head On won over C&D on chasing debut 22 days ago and will have eyes on doubling up from 4lb higher but TERRAFIRMA LADY shaped quite well behind in fifth on that occasion and could reverse the form.
Alan King's mare was ridden patiently last time and made some good late gains, eventually beaten just over five lengths at the line.
She had previously put in a pair of improved efforts over hurdles prior to turning her attention to this discipline and is a lively contender in the Worcester opener.
LiveScore selection: Terrafirma Lady
2.20pm - MansionBet Watch And Bet Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m4f)
The Emma Lavelle-trained JEMIMA P was in cracking form when last spotted at the beginning of the summer.
She won 3-4 over fences post wind surgery, scoring by a wide margin over this C&D in early May and then defying an 11lb rise in the weights to once more score at Ffos Las at the end of that same month.
She is up another 12lb here but could well be capable of better still and, off a summer break, can bag another Worcester win.
LiveScore selection: Jemima P
2.50pm - Cazoo Handicap Chase (2m½f)
Fergal O'Brien and Paddy Brennan are once more enjoying a superb time of it lately, the trainer now boasting a 34 per-cent strike-rate from his last 44 runners.
BATHIVA has won 3-4 since joining this yard from David Dennis late last year.
Most recently, he was on target over C&D in the middle of last month, coming with a good late challenge to make it two out of two this season.
He is 5lb higher now but may well reward Brennan and O'Brien, with their only contender on the card, by taking the feature race at Worcester.
LiveScore selection: Bathiva
3.25pm - MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Open NH Flat Race (2m)
Fifrelet was runner-up over C&D three weeks ago but that run came on the back of a 619-day absence and there has to be some threat of a bounce back here.
FINE BY ME is an eye-catching newcomer for Nigel and Sam Twiston-Davies in the trainer's own silks.
He is a gelding by St Leger winner Kingston Hill and should appreciate this opening test for a yard that typically does well in bumpers.
LiveScore selection: Fine By Me
4pm - Cazoo Handicap Hurdle (2m7f)
Warren Greatrex's DRUMLEE WATAR is another contender on this card in superb recent form.
He has not looked back since a wind operation after successive spring seconds at Stratford and Fontwell — and has now won 3-4 since late June.
Amongst those was a C&D victory on penultimate start before he was picked off late by the market leaders when ¾-length third at Bangor four weeks ago.
From an unchanged mark, he is of major interest here as Caoilin Quinn takes off a very useful 7lb in the saddle.
