- Manchester City have won all six Premier League matches this season
- City have won their last six Premier League meetings with Wolves, scoring three or more in five of those victories
- Recommended bet: Manchester City to win & over 2.5 goals

Manchester City were dumped out of the EFL Cup by Newcastle United in midweek, but the Citizens have made a flawless start to their Premier League title defence and will be hoping to extend their winning run to seven against Wolves at Molineux.

Unsurprisingly, table-topping City have dominated this fixture recently and as the best so often do, they will be bidding to respond to that setback with another first-class performance.

Goal machine Erling Haaland, star centre-back Ruben Dias and the ever-reliable Kyle Walker were unused substitutes at St James' Park, while Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson was given the evening off.

The injuries are piling up for Pep Guardiola, but that quartet are expected to return to a star-studded City line-up, which may spell trouble for a Wolves side who have collected only four points from their six games.

Wolves have shown promise going forward under Gary O'Neil, but defensive problems persist and only Burnley and Sheffield United have conceded more so far this season.

Team news

Wolves will be without suspended midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who arrived in the summer from Strasbourg, while Tommy Doyle is ineligible to face his parent club.

Otherwise, O'Neil has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri serves the second game of a three-match ban and this fixture comes too soon for Bernardo Silva and John Stones.

Kevin de Bruyne remains City's only long-term absentee, so Matheus Nunes will be hoping he can start against his former employers.

The stats

Manchester City are a perfect six from six in the Premier League this season, with their three away wins being recorded at Burnley, Sheffield United and West Ham.

City have, however, conceded in three of their last four league victories.

Manchester City have won the past six Premier League meetings, scoring 19 goals and conceding just three. They have netted three or more goals in five of those successes.

Wolves have lost four of their opening six league games this season, suffering home defeats to Brighton and Liverpool.

The hosts have failed to score in just one of their past 12 Premier League home matches and they have notched in five of their six league fixtures this term.

Prediction

Even in the absence of De Bruyne, Rodri and Silva, City will deploy a seriously strong starting line-up and should have enough in reserve to notch up a seventh straight league victory.

The Citizens will be more vulnerable in midfield, especially with enforcer Rodri suspended, and that could allow Wolves to create some goalscoring opportunities on the counter-attack.

But, with Haaland fresh and raring to go after sitting out in midweek, the visitors should be blessed with too much firepower and can triumph in a high-scoring clash.

Wolves have netted in five of their six league games this season, which includes home defeats to Brighton and Liverpool.

However, they lost 4-1 to the Seagulls and 3-1 to the Reds and will be fearing the worst against a City side that have won the last six meetings between the pair, scoring three or more in five of those encounters.
