Manchester City and Real Madrid are set to lock horns over Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies this summer, according to Sky Sports Germany.

The pair are set to go head-to-head in the Champions League semi-finals tonight but may clash again in a few months' time as interest in the Canadian ramps up.

City have been without a traditional left-back this season and Pep Guardiola has often used Nathan Ake or Bernardo Silva in that role after Joao Cancelo departed for the Bundesliga in January.

And the Portuguese international could be used as a bargaining chip between the two clubs as director Txiki Begiristain looks to bring the 22-year-old to the Etihad.

Madrid are also keen on the former Vancouver Whitecaps defender and are determined to replace Frenchman Ferland Mendy in the summer.

But the German champions will be tough negotiators and are considering talks with the speedster that would see him stay beyond his current deal that expires in 2025.

Davies has had a hand in nine goals in all competitions this season, including four assists in the Bundesliga.

The 39-cap international has already won the Champions League and boasts another 11 major trophies from his five seasons with Bayern.
