Transfer Talk: PSG plot £50m swoop to rescue benchwarmer Maguire
Paris Saint-Germain are preparing a £50million bid for out-of-favour Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.
The England centre-back has started only five Premier League games this season and played a combined 94 minutes in the Red Devils' last eight top-flight outings.
United are expected to try and offload Maguire, 30, this summer and The Sun claim PSG will launch a move after missing out on him in January.
Erik ten Hag has settled on Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as his preferred defensive partnership, with Victor Lindelof and even left-back Luke Shaw seemingly above the former Leicester ace in the pecking order.
Maguire, who has played 165 games since his £80m move to Old Trafford in 2019, remains club captain and is reportedly determined to win back his place.
But a switch to the French capital to join a superstar squad would be hard to turn down and regular minutes would be a boost to his hopes of remaining in Gareth Southgate's XI at Euro 2024.
United will try to cash in on fringe players as they look to fund a summer splurge, with a revamped midfield and new striker the top priorities.
Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Eduardo Camavinga, Mason Mount and Frenkie de Jong are among the high-profile names being linked with the Old Trafford outfit.
