Transfer Talk: Chelsea despair as Osimhen edges towards rivals
Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have moved ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer.
The Blues have been putting in considerable effort behind the scenes to convince the Nigerian he is the man to improve their fortunes.
But TEAMtalk report the striker wants a deal worth at least £200,000 a week and Stamford Bridge chiefs are reluctant to break their wage structure to land him.
PSG would be more comfortable with that level of salary, particularly considering Kylian Mbappe is likely to leave the French capital for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
And Osimhen could be the perfect replacement for the outgoing forward having scored 72 goals in 125 appearances during four seasons in Italy.
Arsenal are also keen to add a world-class No9 this summer and have been in touch with the 25-year-old.
They are ready to move on Eddie Nketiah to clear space in the squad for a big signing.
Napoli are aware they are set to lose their talisman with club president Aurelio De Laurentiis saying in January: "We knew it since last summer. We knew perfectly that he will go to Real Madrid, PSG or some Premier League team."
