Tottenham's Heung-Min Son has often been a thorn in Arsenal's side

- Spurs have lost only one of their last eight home meetings with the Gunners
- Heung-Min Son has scored six goals in his last eight North London Derby appearances
- Recommended bet:
Heung-Min Son to score

The second North London Derby of the season arrives on Sunday, with Spurs hosting bitter rivals Arsenal with plenty on the line.

The Lilywhites are in a two-team shootout with Aston Villa for fourth spot while the Gunners are leading the way in the Premier League as they remain in a three-way title fight with Manchester City and Liverpool.

With so much on the line for each side and the history between these huge rivals, an intriguing affair could play out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.

Team news

Destiny Udogie has been ruled out for the season, joining long-term absentees Manor Solomon, Fraser Forster and Ryan Sessegnon on the sidelines, with Ben Davies the likeliest candidate to deputise at left-back.

Richarlison is a doubt but could make the bench, while the news is slightly better surrounding Pedro Porro. The right-back expected to make a full recovery from the hamstring strain that saw him forced off against Newcastle and start against the Gunners.

Jurrien Timber is Arsenal's only confirmed absentee and, although the Dutch defender made a goalscoring return on Monday, netting for the Gunners' Under-21s in his first official match since the opening day, this match is likely to have come too soon.

The stats

- Spurs have lost only one of their last eight home meetings with the Gunners

- Arsenal have scored 22 goals in their last eight away games

- Both teams have netted in Tottenham's last six home matches

- The Gunners are unbeaten in seven Premier League away games

- Spurs have won eight of their last nine league matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

- Heung-Min Son has scored six goals in his last eight North London Derby appearances

Prediction

Mikel Arteta's defence looks likely to be tested at Spurs
Mikel Arteta's defence looks likely to be tested at Spurs

Spurs have lost just one of their last eight home meetings with their north London rivals, but they will need to be at their best to get the better of the title-chasing Gunners this time around.

Arsenal arrive off the back of a 5-0 thrashing of Chelsea and they have been brilliant all season. Mikel Arteta's men have scored 22 goals in their last eight away games, suggesting Spurs will need a few goals to see off their rivals in this clash.

However, Ange Postecoglou is an extremely attacking manager, as evidenced by the fact Tottenham are yet to blank in a Premier League home game this term, and he has the tactics and players at his disposal to hurt Arsenal on Sunday.

Son has enjoyed an excellent first season as the Lilywhites' main man following Harry Kane's departure, netting 15 goals and registering nine assists in just 29 league games.

The South Korean forward has enjoyed this fixture over the years too, netting six times in his last eight appearances against the Gunners.

Spurs' skipper scored both of their goals in September's 2-2 reverse fixture and the captain could be set to step up in the derby again.

Tottenham have won eight of their last nine Premier League home games and might have more of a chance of disrupting their rival's title challenge than some are giving them, with Son likely to be at the centre of everything the hosts do going forward in this huge North London Derby.
