Norwich to win

Norwich look poised to maintain their challenge for a play-off place by seeing off relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The Canaries are on a high after edging out Ipswich in the East Anglian derby on Saturday and currently sit in the fourth and final play-off place, four points clear of Coventry, who have a game in hand.

Wednesday are second from bottom, level on points with Birmingham in the final relegation place and a point behind Huddersfield, who currently sit outside the dropzone in 21st.

Team news

Momo Diaby, Ian Poveda and Juan Delgado are all absent for the Owls, but Callum Paterson is fit again and is pushing for a start.

For Norwich, Jonathan Rowe will be given a late fitness test on his hamstring injury but Grant Hanley, Dimitrios Giannoulis, Jacob Sorensen and Onel Hernandez are all set to miss out again.

The stats

Norwich have won four of their last five matches in the Championship.

Wednesday have lost three of their last five games, with their other results over that period being a draw at home to Swansea and Saturday's 2-0 win at QPR.

Norwich have won the last three meetings between the clubs, including a 3-1 success at home in December.

The Canaries have scored in 12 successive league games, with their last blank in the second tier coming in a 1-0 loss at Leeds in late January.

The home game with Norwich is Sheffield Wednesday's 5,000th league fixture.

Prediction

Norwich can pick up another vital three points in the race for the play-offs by seeing off the struggling Owls.

The Canaries can move above West Brom with victory, although the Baggies can reclaim fifth place with a win over already-relegated Rotherham on Wednesday.

With the final run-in to the campaign now looming large, David Wagner knows his side can ill-afford to slip-up as they seek a spot in the top six, with Coventry leading the chasing pack below them.

Sheffield Wednesday are desperate for the points in their bid to avoid relegation and Danny Rohl's men did get a much-needed win at QPR on Saturday.

However, that was the Owls' first victory in five matches and a confident Norwich can increase the hosts' fears of a quick return to League One and build on their derby victory over Ipswich at the weekend with another three points.
