- Napoli have won 1-0 five times in Serie A this season
- Genoa have drawn four of their last seven matches
- Roma on a four-match winning run at home in all competitions

With Atalanta away at the Supercoppa in Saudi Arabia, second-placed Napoli have the chance to reclaim top spot when they head to Fiorentina on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the big game of the weekend comes at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, when Roma and Lazio meet in the Derby della Capitale.

Joe Champion has correct score picks for all seven Serie A matches.

Venezia vs Empoli (Saturday, 2pm)

Venezia have produced some bright performances of late, holding Como and Juventus and beating Cagliari in their last four outings, but there is no guarantee they will defeat Empoli, who have suffered just three away losses this season – at Lazio, AC Milan and Atalanta.

Score prediction: Venezia 1-1 Empoli

Fiorentina vs Napoli (Saturday, 5pm)

Fiorentina claimed just one point from their last three matches of 2024 and a home clash with Napoli represents another tough test.

Confidence is high for the visitors, who have won five of their last six Serie A matches and who boast the league's meanest defence.

Score prediction: Fiorentina 0-1 Napoli

Hellas Verona vs Udinese (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Hellas Verona have won two of their last three games to ease relegation fears but their defensive issues could be exposed by Udinese.

The visitors are in the midst of an up-and-down season, but they have won two of their last three road matches, both by a 2-1 scoreline.

Score prediction: Verona 1-2 Udinese

Monza vs Cagliari (Sunday, 11.30am)

New Monza head coach Salvatore Bocchetti has a lot of work to do to help his side avoid relegation, but his second match in charge could end in victory.

The hosts have not won since October but they have been competitive recently and are up against a Cagliari team who struggle on the road.

Score prediction: Monza 2-1 Cagliari

Salvatore Bocchetti will hope to guide Monza to victory at home to fellow strugglers Cagliari.

Lecce vs Genoa (Sunday, 2pm)

Lecce enter the weekend just two points clear of relegation and they look far from certain to beat Genoa.

Patrick Vieira's visitors have avoided defeat in seven of their last eight games, playing out four draws in that period, so expect another tight clash.

Score prediction: Lecce 1-1 Genoa

Torino vs Parma (Sunday, 5pm)

Torino have won just once at home since the beginning of September and are a difficult team to weigh up.

Visitors Parma are equally difficult to get a handle on, although they could have slightly more self-belief after last week's 2-1 win over Monza.

Score prediction: Torino 1-2 Parma

Roma vs Lazio (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Claudio Ranieri is starting to get a tune out of Roma and the veteran coach will be well aware of the significance of this fixture.

This derby tends to be tight, but both teams have struggled defensively this term, so it is possible that the Wolves will edge an encounter in which both sides hit the back of the net.

Score prediction: Roma 2-1 Lazio
