- Ipswich have won their opening two games in the Championship
- QPR have won only one of their last 15 home league games
- Recommended Bet: Ipswich to win

Despite having only secured promotion from League One last season, Ipswich are setting the early pace in the Championship and are a perfect two wins from two ahead of their trip to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

The Tractor Boys built on an opening-day 2-1 success at Sunderland with an authoritative 2-0 victory over Stoke, who managed only two efforts on target.

Attention now turns to QPR and it is a fixture that they should be feeling pretty optimistic about.

The Super Hoops are preparing for their first home league match of the campaign, having lost 4-0 at Watford in their Championship curtain-raiser before rallying to record a 2-1 win at Cardiff.

However, Gareth Ainsworth’s side rode their luck in that win against the Bluebirds and they have not had the ideal preparation, as they were in EFL Cup action on Wednesday evening while Ipswich were enjoying a free midweek.

A dreary home record may also spell trouble for QPR, who are widely considered to be among the Championship’s relegation favourites this season.

Team news

Rangers remain without defenders Jimmy Dunne and Jake Clarke-Salter while new arrival Jack Colback is still not fit to feature.

Ipswich, meanwhile, virtually have a fully fit squad to choose from with first-choice goalkeeper Christian Walton their only confirmed absentee.

The stats

Ipswich have won all three of their competitive matches this season, defeating Sunderland and Stoke in the Championship and dumping out Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup.

Across this season and last, that means the Tractor Boys are now unbeaten in 20 competitive matches.

QPR have won only four of their last 25 Championship games and they have struggled at home, where they have won only one of their last 15 league outings.

Both teams have scored in only one of QPR's last six home league fixtures, suggesting defences may come to the fore.

This is the first competitive meeting between these sides since they clashed in the Championship back in 2018 when QPR triumphed 3-0 on home turf.

That means the Super Hoops are unbeaten in their last five rivalries with Ipswich, who have lost four of those encounters.

Prediction

Ipswich have excelled on their Championship return, defeating Sunderland and Stoke, and the red-hot Tractor Boys should maintain that perfect record at QPR.

Kieran McKenna's side have adjusted effortlessly to this new division after last season’s rise from League One and they are widely regarded as live contenders for back-to-back promotions.

QPR, on the other hand, are expected to endure another season of struggle having finished 20th last term and only six points above the drop.

Ainsworth’s side defied the stats to win 2-1 at Cardiff last week, in a game where they lost the shot count 14-7 and scored twice from only three efforts on target.

But this is a quick turnaround for them after they lost 1-0 at home to Norwich in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening and they have won only one of their last 15 Championship outings at Loftus Road.
