LiveScore Racing News: Loughnane excited by juvenile duo's potential
Trainer David Loughnane believes Go Bears Go and Hello You are primed for big futures after they ended their juvenile campaigns with impressive performances in the Breeders' Cup.
The duo both raced at Del Mar last weekend to end what has been a very impressive year for the pair of two-year-olds.
Go Bears Go was beaten by just half a length in the Grade Two Juvenile Turf Sprint behind Twilight Gleaming, while Hello You finished fifth in the one-mile Grade One Juvenile Fillies' Turf.
Both horses have been victors at Group Two level in the UK this season and have proved themselves to be more than competitive across the pond.
Go Bears Go was a winner in the Railway Stakes at Curragh back in June, while Hello You was victorious at Newmarket in September's Rockfel Stakes.
Loughnane could not have been happier with their runs in California and now has a wealth of targets.
The Shropshire handler said: "It was a great experience and both ran great races."
On Go Bears Go's prospects, Loughnane confirmed a step up to Group One was on the cards with Royal Ascot in mind.
He added: "Five to six furlongs will be his trip over here next year. I suppose the most logical option would be something along the lines of the Commonwealth Cup.
"We'll see how it goes. He thrived off the whole travelling. There are loads of options, including Dubai at the end of February.
"He'll go for a nice holiday now and then we'll take it one step at a time."
Loughnane felt the long journey to California took its toll on Hello You but he has real confidence in her ability and is excited by her potential.
He said: "The journey over there probably took a bit more out of her. She jumped, she travelled, she got a lovely run through the race.
"I have no doubt on her day she was probably the best horse in the race. She'll go for a holiday as well now and we'll come back and try for a Guineas trial with her.
"I have no concerns about her getting the mile. I said whatever she did this year was only going to be a bonus to what she does next year."
