LiveScore Racing Preview: Thurles, November 25, 2021
Thurles is one of three jumps meetings taking place on Thursday afternoon, with the feature race on the card is a Listed contest over fences.
The action begins at 12.05pm and the official ground is described as 'Good' for the seven-race card.
We have picked out five horses for you to follow.
12.05pm - BetVictor Beginners Chase (2m2f)
Two-time hurdles winner CIEL DE NEIGE is set for his chase debut in this opening race at Thurles.
Willie Mullins' runner rose to a mark of 141 as a hurdler, so if he can transfer that form across to timber, he looks set for a bright future.
Mullins is sure to have given his horse plenty of schooling over fences at home and he is the pick of the runners in this field.
LiveScore selection: Ciel De Neige
1.05pm - BetVictor Chase (2m6f - Listed)
Grade Two winning chaser CILAOS EMERY is set for his reappearance in the feature contest on this card.
Mullins' chaser finished second behind Samcro on his last appearance back in May at Killarney (2m4f).
This is the first time this horse has tackled this 2m6f trip but it should not be a problem for him and he looks a class above his rivals here.
LiveScore selection: Cilaos Emery
1.35pm - Thurles Maiden Hurdle (2m)
VINA ARDANZA'S sole racecourse appearance so far came in a National Hunt Flat race at Ayr (2m) back in April.
He is now with Gordon Elliott, so success can be expected in his novice hurdles campaign.
The form of that bumper in Scotland has worked out well since, with a number of the horses behind him going on to prevail.
Elliott's runner stayed on strongly, suggesting he has a nice turn of foot and as long as he handles the obstacles in front of him, he will take all of the beating.
LiveScore selection: Vina Ardanza
2.10pm - BetVictor Irish EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle (2m)
Bumper winner HOLLYMOUNT featured in a Grade Two contest in that discipline last season and made a respectable start to her hurdles career, finishing third of 16 runners over this C&D last month.
Another Elliott runner, she was hampered a couple of times in that race and still finished less than a length behind the winner.
With a clear passage around this time, the five-year-old can break her maiden over hurdles and could be a mare to keep an eye on this season from this leading yard.
LiveScore selection: Hollymount
3.10pm - Boomerang Shavings & Horse & Country Store Handicap Hurdle (2m)
MATER MATUTA is still a maiden following 10 starts over hurdles but she has hit the frame on four of her last five outings, including over this C&D earlier this month.
She remains off the same mark, which keeps her in with a great chance, and the cheekpieces that were worn for the first time on her latest appearance remain.
It is clearly a competitive handicap but she has as good of a chance as any of these runners.
LiveScore selection: Mater Matuta
