Saint no doubt how good Allan is

Eddie Howe believes Allan Saint-Maximin can go on to become one of the best players around. 

The Frenchman, 24, is already a firm fan favourite on Tyneside thanks to his silky skills and electrifying pace with the ball at his feet. 

And Howe is confident he will only get better with time. 

Speaking ahead of Sunday's clash with Aston Villa, the Toon boss said: "He's got everything I think you'd want in his locker already. 

"His overall work-rate and attitude was very good on Tuesday [against Everton]. If he can hit that consistently, what a player he can be. 

"He has the talent to do whatever he wants to do."

Zouma available 

David Moyes has confirmed Kurt Zouma is available for West Ham's trip to Leicester on Sunday.

The Hammers were widely condemned for starting the centre-back in the 1-0 win over Watford earlier this week after a video of him kicking his cat was circulated on social media. 

Zouma, 27, has since apologised and been fined a fortnight's wages by the club, while sportswear firm adidas have dropped him from their client roster. 

The RSPCA have also taken his two cats into care but the Hammers are standing by the Frenchman, despite National League side Dagenham suspending his brother Yoan for allegedly filming the video. 

West Ham boss David Moyes said: "He's available to play against Leicester. There are different views and opinions on should he be available. We as a club took that decision and I stand by that.

"I don't think the club could take more action or any quicker. West Ham have fined him the maximum wages. We all accept the actions are terrible and diabolical.

"We are so disappointed as it is completely out of character from Kurt. He is a really good lad. We are going to get him some help and trying to give him as much help as we can. 

"Like drink-driving offences, most people have to go to classes and the RSPCA are going to provide him with classes. 

"We will do everything we can to make sure Kurt is looking into it, getting better and understanding it."

Tuchel is raring to go

Thomas Tuchel has joined up with Chelsea in time for the Club World Cup final against Palmeiras tomorrow. 

Having tested positive for coronavirus, the Blues boss had to remain in England when the squad flew out to Abu Dhabi.

But he was able to travel to the United Arab Emirates earlier today after following protocol and providing a negative test result.

Tuchel will now be in the dugout at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium as the European champions look to add the Club World Cup to their collection. 

Wilf will keep flying with the Eagles

Patrick Vieira insists Wilfried Zaha is happy with life at Crystal Palace. 

Zaha, 29, left his boyhood club for Manchester United in 2013 but returned after a disappointing spell at Old Trafford, which saw him loaned to both the Eagles and Cardiff. 

He is under contract until the end of next season and Vieira has played down talk of the Ivory Coast international departing this summer. 

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's trip to Brentford, the Palace boss said: "He's under contract so that means he is happy to wear the shirt and perform well. 

"I think what's good for him is to have players around him taking responsibility to take pressure off his shoulders. 

"We have players who can score goals and deliver. The positive is having a team performance, it allows him to express himself."

Zaha was on target as the Eagles picked up a point at Norwich in midweek — but his evening was soured by a costly slip that saw him miss a penalty. 

Dan is a natural striker

Marcelo Bielsa has revealed Leeds did not have to do any extra work with Dan James before deploying him as a striker. 

James, 24, netted twice in midweek as he led the line in the 3-3 draw at Aston Villa. 

And Bielsa is happy with how the Welsh winger has performed in his new role in the absence of the injured Patrick Bamford. 

The Whites boss said: "No special work has been done. He has the features to be able to play in that position. The fact James was able to score goals has a special repercussion.

"To have scored nine goals in our last four [league] games allows us to think it's an attack that works. In some games one player scores and in another game someone else does.

"The fact James scored, I don't use it as a reason to prove me right."

Bielsa will be hoping James can keep the goals flowing when Leeds head to Everton tomorrow. 

Reds welcome back Henderson

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Jordan Henderson will return for Liverpool's trip to Burnley on Sunday — but Sadio Mane remains a doubt. 

Skipper Henderson, 31, took a knock to his back during the 3-1 FA Cup win over Cardiff last weekend but managed to complete 78 minutes before being taken off. 

He sat out the 2-0 Premier League victory over Leicester in midweek and Klopp will be delighted to see him return to action against the Clarets. 

The Reds boss said: "Hendo will be back. If nothing happens, he will play on Sunday."

Mane could also feature after returning to Merseyside having won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal. 

But Klopp is not taking anything for granted when it comes to the striker. He said: "Will Sadio be available? We have to find out. 

"We will make a decision after training [today]. Physically we have to see how the last few days were for him."

Mina blow for Everton

Everton will be without defender Yerry Mina for up to 10 weeks due to a quad injury. 

The centre-back, 27, was forced off in the first half of the 3-1 defeat to Newcastle earlier this week as the Toffees were dragged closer to the Premier League drop zone. 

And boss Frank Lampard has delivered the news the Goodison Park faithful were dreading. 

Ahead of tomorrow's home clash with Leeds, he said: "I was aware on the night of how serious it was and our worst fears were confirmed.

"It's an unfortunate injury and will probably be between eight and 10 weeks. It's a strong injury around his quad. 

"In the last week I've realised what a leader Yerry is for us. He's a big personality here. He's a positive man who we'll miss."
