- Leicester have won 11 of their 12 Championship matches
- Sunderland have scored in five of their six away games
- Recommended bet: Leicester to win and both teams to score

Championship pacesetters Leicester City will be aiming to continue their record-breaking start to the season when they welcome Sunderland to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.

The Foxes became the first side since the second tier was rebranded as the Championship in 2004 to win 11 of their opening 12 games following their 3-1 success at Swansea City on Saturday, a result that also saw them pull five points clear at the top of the standings.

Next up for Enzo Maresca's side is a home clash with a Black Cats team who are clinging on to their place in the top six despite back-to-back defeats.

Team news

Leicester remain without Kasey McAteer, but he is making good progress from the hamstring injury he picked up in the win at Blackburn.

Fellow winger Yunus Akgun has also emerged as a doubt after he limped off late on in the victory over Swansea.

Sunderland will be boosted by the return of midfielder Dan Neil, who sat out Saturday's 2-1 loss at Stoke through suspension.

Bradley Dack returned as a substitute against Stoke after over a month out with a thigh issue, but Jay Matete and Corry Evans remain long-term absentees.

The stats

Leicester have won 11 of their opening 12 Championship matches, with their only dropped points coming in a 1-0 home defeat to Hull at the start of September.

The Foxes have won seven league games in a row since then, while Saturday's 3-1 success at Swansea saw them become the first second-tier side in English history to win their opening six away matches of a season.

To further underline Leicester's dominance of the division, they are the leading scorers in the Championship with 26 goals, while they also boast the best defence, conceding just seven goals.

Sunderland remain in the play-off places despite following up a 4-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough with a 2-1 loss at Stoke.

The Black Cats had won six of their previous eight league fixtures before that double setback, while only three teams, Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton, have picked up more away points than Tony Mowbray's side.

Prediction

Leicester appear a class above everyone else in the second tier this season and it is difficult to see them dropping many points over the course of the campaign.

Since suffering their only league defeat of the season at home to Hull, the Foxes have won seven Championship fixtures on the spin, while they have not even conceded a goal in their three games at the King Power since that 1-0 loss.

Sunderland would certainly want to be coming into an away match with the league leaders in better form following their back-to-back losses, but the Black Cats have scored in five of their six away fixtures to date.

Given Sunderland's attacking threat, as well as the quick turnaround from Saturday's matches, it would be no surprise to see the Black Cats trouble the scoresheet, but derailing Leicester's march towards the Premier League would appear a much tougher proposition.
