Kevin Lokko’s double earned Maidenhead a third successive National League win with a 2-0 victory at Southend.

Maidenhead took the lead after 13 minutes when Lokko rose highest to head in Nathan Ferguson’s free-kick.

Craig Ross made a brilliant save to deny Jack Bridge and preserve Maidenhead’s lead after 23 minutes before the goalkeeper also kept out Josh Walker’s effort.

Walker had another opportunity after the break but fired over and Maidenhead made them pay.

It was the same combination for the visitors as Ferguson’s whipped corner was headed in by Lokko on 68 minutes.
