Jonas Eidevall admits he has been impressed with Arsenal's "mental resilience" after the Gunners grabbed a late winner against Manchester City in the Women's Super League.

Steph Catley opened the scoring at Meadow Park but Chloe Kelly pulled one back for City before Stina Blackstenius netted in the 87th minute to seal the North Londoners' third win on the bounce.

After the match, Eidevall said: "I think there were a lot of components in the win but against a team like Man City you have to do well with and without the ball.

"I think we had a slow start but again great mental resilience.

"We stay in the game and find small details to work our way back in the game and we find ways to win which is important.

"It definitely shows what the team is capable of. This reminds us more of last year and is a different game to what we have been playing this season.

"That was quite nice to play something different. I thought it was an entertaining game for spectators.

"I think us defending crosses was a big step forward. We made far more first contacts against the best team in the league. I am pleased with that."

Defender Lotte Wubben-Moy echoed the thoughts of her manager and believes that her team-mates have been good at getting the job done this season.

She said: "It is always hard coming off an international block and I think that showed our togetherness and growth.

"We have had a rocky start and got the wins but only just. Today you saw our togetherness and how we can fight.

"We have been seen as just a ball-playing team and actually we can fight as well.

"This week we have spoken about our performance and at the moment our potential is through the roof.

"In football you always need a victory. I don't think you can underestimate any win. Man City are a great team but I think we had the edge today."
