From Hollywood stars to local legends, read on as we profile the celebrity supporters from all 20 of the Premier League’s current clubs.

Arsenal — Piers Morgan

He may divide opinion, but nobody can question journalist turned broadcaster Piers Morgan’s commitment to his beloved Arsenal.

The former Good Morning Britain host is one of the Gunners’ most passionate supporters and can regularly be found penning his thoughts on the North London outfit to his many millions of Twitter followers.

Regularly seen attending games alongside his son Spencer, Morgan has endured public spats with the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil over his vocal criticism of their performances in years gone by.

Aston Villa — Prince William

Aston Villa are a club with an extremely rich history, so it is fitting that the Midlands side can count on the backing of one of the world’s most prestigious royals — Prince William.

Burnley — Jimmy Anderson

A true legend among fans of English cricket, seam bowler extraordinaire Jimmy Anderson holds a special place in his heart for his local football club.

Chelsea — Jeremy Clarkson

A club the size of Chelsea can boast more than their fair share of famous fans — but it is broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson who takes top spot in their celebrity supporter club.

Clarkson, who rose to fame alongside Richard Hammond and James May in presenting popular motoring show Top Gear, is one of the most recognisable faces on UK television and a long-time attendee at Stamford Bridge.

While often travelling with his work, the petrolhead still does his best to back the Blues and has been pictured at FA Cup and Champions League finals in recent seasons.

Crystal Palace — Simon Bird

Having claimed the role of British national treasure for his portrayal of Will McKenzie in The Inbetweeners, Simon Bird can stake a strong claim as Crystal Palace’s most famous fan.

Bird shot to prominence in the E4 cringe-fest comedy over a decade ago and has also starred in the hit Channel 4 show Friday Night Dinner in more recent years, along with writing his own work.

He and Inbetweeners co-star James Buckley are both hardcore Eagles supporters and are regulars at Selhurst Park.

Everton — Judi Dench

Leeds — Russell Crowe

Leicester — Gary Lineker

While many clubs have a long list of candidates competing to be their most famous fan, there can only be one winner of the debate at Leicester.

Gary Lineker, decorated player turned esteemed TV presenter, is the city’s most famous son having starred for the Foxes on the pitch before going on to proudly preach their name during his media career.

After their famous Premier League title win in 2015-16, Lineker kept his word on a promise made earlier in the season and duly presented the opening show of the 2016-17 campaign in nothing but Leicester briefs, to celebrate his side’s unlikely success.

Liverpool — Daniel Craig

As one of the most famous clubs in world football, Liverpool are another club who could name an entire squad of celebrity supporters — but Daniel Craig is a hard man to top in terms of reputation.

Having kept movie fans on the edge of their cinema seats as James Bond for the last 15 years, the only team with a licence to thrill the award-winning actor are his beloved Reds.

Speaking of his visits to their home ground recently, Craig said: "I go back to Anfield now and find it really hard to keep my emotions in check. I'm in pieces just walking in. Other grounds are not like Anfield!"

Manchester City — Noel Gallagher

While Manchester City have acquired many new fans in recent seasons, Noel Gallagher is one man who has been a loud and proud supporter through the tough times as well.

The Oasis star has half a century of City memories in the bank having attended Maine Road for the first time back in 1971 and could surely never have anticipated the success that was around the corner for his club during their various spells in the lower leagues.

Gallagher, who is still actively performing with his High Flying Birds band, even conducted City’s first interview with current boss Pep Guardiola after the Spaniard’s 2016 arrival at the Etihad.

Manchester United — Usain Bolt

Another club with no end of famous followers, Manchester United can uniquely claim to have the fastest man on planet earth among their fanbase — the one and only Usain Bolt.

Such is his passion for the Red Devils, 100m world record holder Bolt even pushed for a trial at the Theatre of Dreams a few years ago in the hope that his terrifying pace could be of use to his favourite team.

While his football career never did quite take off, he remains a regular at Old Trafford and is never shy in giving his opinion about what United need to do to get back to competing for Premier League titles.

Newcastle — Ant and Dec

The only side in this list to be permitted two top celebrity fans, there is no splitting the iconic TV duo of Ant and Dec who remain staunch supporters of their hometown club Newcastle. 

Established as two of the most familiar faces on British television, McPartlin and Donnelly became friends on the set of the Tyneside-based show Byker Grove in the 1990s and have never strayed too far from their roots.

Though good times have been few and far between at St James’ Park in recent years, the duo will join their fellow Magpies fans in hoping the club’s Saudi-backed owners can turn things around in the seasons ahead.

Norwich — Stephen Fry

While celebrity chef Delia Smith still sits on the board of Norwich, she is narrowly edged out in the race for top spot by her fellow famous Canary, Stephen Fry.

An actor, author, comedian and broadcaster among several other things, Fry’s varied career has made him one of the most recognisable names in the world of entertainment and he boasts a Twitter following of over 12million.

Fry himself is a former board member at Carrow Road but took a step back in 2016, though he remains an ambassador and regular attendee at their Premier League matches.

Southampton — Craig David

Southampton fans love belting out a rendition of their cult terrace song When The Saints Go Marching In — but perhaps they should be practicing their R&B instead.

British singer-songwriter Craig David has been churning out chart hits since the turn of the millennium but loves taking a trip to St Mary’s to cheer on his hometown team in his spare time.

When asked in interviews about his connections to the club, David has frequently referenced former England international Matt Le Tissier as his favourite player ever to pull on a red and white shirt.

Tottenham — Adele

Even though pop superstar Adele has conquered the world of music and now resides alongside some of the world’s most high-profile celebrities in Los Angeles, she never forgets her roots.

The Tottenham-born star’s first-ever single, Hometown Glory, was written about the area she grew up in and in more recent times she has confessed her love for Spurs in several social media posts.

It remains to be seen whether the 15-time Grammy winner will be popping in to say Hello at a Premier League match this season but she is sure to be welcomed with open arms if she does.

Watford — Elton John

One of English football’s most famous fan connections, music icon Elton John took his love of Watford to extreme levels when taking over his beloved club not once but twice.

A passionate supporter from his youth, John bought the club in the 1980s at the peak of his stardom and oversaw a remarkable rise from the fourth division into England’s top tier and a run to the 1984 FA Cup final.

Though his two stints as chairman also had tough times, the singer is still a legendary figure at Vicarage Road and even had a stand named after him in 2014 for his service to the Hornets.

West Ham — James Corden

Whether it is playing the role of Smithy on hit TV series Gavin and Stacey or flying the flag on his USA talk show, James Corden has never been shy about professing his love for West Ham.
