Erik ten Hag has no concerns about his job being under threat despite Manchester United losing 3-2 to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The Red Devils went ahead twice in the match but a Casemiro red card allowed the Turkish club to seize the initiative and grab their first win away in the competition since 2013.

United's loss marks two defeats in less than a week and questions are being asked of Ten Hag's ability to manage the Premier League giants.

But the Dutchman waved off concerns, saying: "Last season was brilliant. It was more than we could expect, but we knew with the project that there would be difficult periods.

"We always come out together and we are fighting together and getting behind each other.

"That's me, the directors, the team, we are all in this together and we will fight.

"Right now this is not us and we know we have to do better."

United have already lost three times at home in all competitions this season and their latest performance was marked with jeers from the crowd at full-time.

Ten Hag sympathised with the supporters and admitted that he is responsible for changing the mood at Old Trafford.

He added: "I can understand [the boos].

"I am responsible for this team together with my squad, the fans are disappointed and I understand that we have to do better.

"Tonight I saw a team with a great spirit and they were backed by the crowd from start to end.

"In the end, they are disappointed as we all are, but the team always find fight and energy at the start of the game with good motivation."

It was a positive start for the home side after Rasmus Hojlund bagged his second and third strikes of the season but defensive errors and a red card allowed Galatasaray to peg United back in the match.

Conceding goals have been the biggest issue for the Red Devils despite the addition of Andre Onana, who was under fire again for his poor positioning in the game.

Ten Hag said: "We are happy with our goalkeeping group.

"Onana has already played in one Champions League semi-final and one final.

"He has the capabilities to be one of the best keepers in the world and he has already shown that.

"After he makes a mistake he bounces back and I am sure he will come back again."
