Roy Hodgson is set to return to the Crystal Palace dugout when the Eagles play host to Fulham

- Both teams have scored in Crystal Palace's last four matches
- Both meetings last season featured three & four goals
- Recommended bet: Crystal Palace to win & both teams to score

Crystal Palace have made a decent start to the season, but things could have been even better had the Eagles not thrown away a winning position at Aston Villa last week.

Palace approach this weekend's fixtures ninth in the Premier League and they could have been as high as sixth but for their last collapse at Villa Park where they conceded three goals after the 87th minute to lose 3-1.

They will want to respond in the correct manner this week and they will fancy their chances against a Fulham side who have only 1-0 wins over struggling Everton and Luton Town as their bright spots in the early stages of the campaign.

Team news

Manager Roy Hodgson will return to the Palace dugout after missing last week's match at Villa through illness, but Michael Olise remains sidelined and Marc Guehi and Jefferson Lerma are rated doubtful.

Fulham have a clean bill of health for the trip to Selhurst Park, with Carlos Vinicius pushing for a start after coming off the bench to score the winner against Luton Town last week.

The stats

Both teams have scored in Palace's last four matches.

Over 3.5 goals have been scored in each of Palace's previous three fixtures.

Fulham are unbeaten in four meetings with the Eagles.

Fulham have conceded ten goals in their five Premier League outings this season.

Prediction

Fulham have a decent record in recent meetings with Palace, but there is a cutting edge about the Eagles this season and they are fancied to come out on top against the Cottagers in this London derby.

The match pits ninth versus tenth in the Premier League at the start of this round of fixtures, with Palace a point better off after five matches, but they can increase their advantage over the west London side with a victory at Selhurst Park.

It will be a welcome return to south London for Palace, who have played just twice at home this season, with a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal followed by a 3-2 win over Wolves prior to the international break.

And there will be determination from the Eagles to make amends for their calamitous collapse at  Villa last week, where they threw away a 1-0 lead late on in the game.

Had they held on, Palace could have been loftily placed in the Premier League, but they can make further inroads on the leading pack with a win over Fulham.

Goals have been easy to come by for Roy Hodgson's men, who have bagged ten goals in all competitions this season, with their last three outings all featuring four goals or more.

Both teams have hit the net in Palace's last four fixtures, so don't rule out the visitors getting on the scoresheet in what could be a lively encounter.

It finished 2-2 when these two last met in May, while Fulham ran out 3-0 winners earlier in the season in the corresponding fixture at this venue but the Cottagers were in a much better place back then, and Palace are fancied to turn the tables.
