Oliver Glasner's Crystal Palace are searching for their first league win of the season

- Both Crystal Palace and Leicester are yet to win this season
- The Eagles won their final four home games of 2023-24
- Recommended bet:
Crystal Palace to win and both teams to score

Crystal Palace finished last season by winning six of their final seven games and drawing the other.

They were expected to carry that momentum into the current campaign but are yet to record a league victory, losing to Brentford and West Ham before drawing against Chelsea.

The Eagles host promoted Leicester on Saturday, who, after an opening draw with Tottenham, have lost 2-1 to both Fulham and Aston Villa.

New boss Steve Cooper had to handle plenty of upheaval over the summer and while they look likely to be game opponents at Selhurst Park, another disappointing afternoon beckons.

Team news

Oliver Glasner is without defender Chadi Riad due to a knee injury, while forward Matheus Franca is sidelined with a broken rib.

Midfielder Adam Wharton is expected to feature despite withdrawing from England under-21 duty through a groin issue.

Leicester goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk and forward Patson Daka are both out with ankle injuries, while loan striker Odsonne Edouard is ineligible to face his parent club.

The stats

Palace won eight of their 19 home games last season. However, seven of those came after Christmas.

Leicester had the second-best away record in the 2023-24 Championship behind only Leeds.

Palace won 2-1 the last time the pair met at Selhurst Park in April 2023 and Leicester's last win at the ground came in November 2019.

Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the winner in that most recent meeting. However, finishing last season with 13 goals in 13 games after Glasner's arrival, he has netted only twice this season, grabbing a brace at home in August's 4-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich.

Prediction

Steve Cooper is still to record his first league win in charge of Leicester

Big things were expected of Palace coming into the new campaign, despite Glasner playing down the external expectations.

His team have played well but been unlucky. They were excellent against Chelsea and can kick on against Leicester.

The Foxes have been competitive in their three games but are already showing signs of failing to demonstrate the requisite quality to survive in the Premier League.

Cooper's side could still score and, considering their recent defeats, a repeat of that April 2023 2-1 win for Palace is available at 13/2 with LiveScore Bet.

The signs point to a home victory, with Saturday's game an excellent opportunity for the Eagles to break their duck for the campaign.
