Carlisle's feature meeting of the season takes place on Sunday, with the Colin Park Memorial Chase being the highlights of the card.

This Listed race has been won by some smart chasers in recent years. There are eight races on this card, with the opening contest coming at 11.50am.

The official going heading into the meeting is described as 'Soft'.

11.50am - Join Racing TV Now Novices' Hurdle (2m4f)

Point-to-point winner HARPER'S BROOK made a respectable start to his career under Rules, finishing third of nine at Wetherby (2m) in a National Hunt Flat race back in March.

This horse is bred to go over much further so this step up in distance will help on his debut over hurdles. Ben Pauling's runner is related to some decent hurdles winners. He looks set to make a successful start over obstacles in this novice contest to open the card.

12.50pm - Gordon Richards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m4f)

KILLER KANE got off the mark over hurdles at the third time of asking last season. He scored on the final outing of his campaign at Exeter (2m1f). It was a smart performance in the 15-runner field as the margin of victory was just over five lengths.

Connections of the Oscar gelding have fast-tracked him to chasing as they obviously think he will improve again over timber.

An opening handicap mark of 128 seems fair and it gives him a good chance of opening the season with a victory.

Donald McCain's gelding DONLADD is back at the same C&D he broke his maiden over. The seven-year-old really enjoyed it around this course, producing the best performance of his career so far.

Unfortunately for his connections, his follow up attempt at Perth (2m4f) did not go to plan. He was pulled up at the Scottish course.

He is now off a mark which is 4lb higher than his victory here but has a great chance for a second success.

LiveScore Selection: Donladd

2pm - Colin Parker Memorial Intermediate Chase (2m4f)

Espoir De Romay won twice over this distance last season
Espoir De Romay won twice over this distance last season

There are just six runners for the feature race on this card, but it is a fascinating race as many of the entries remain unexposed over fences.

ESPOIR DE ROMAY ended last season in a Grade One contest as he lined up in the Mildmay Novices' Chase. He was leading the field when he made a mistake and fell three fences from home in that race.

Kim Bailey's chaser prevailed twice over this distance last season and he has been a much better horse since he had wind surgery. There should be much more to come from the seven-year-old.

LiveScore Selection: Espoir De Romay

2.35pm - DMB Building Ltd Handicap Hurdle (2m4f)

ALBERT'S BACK has an excellent record over hurdles. He has won four of his six races so far. In his last assignment at Wetherby (2m3½f), he fell at the first hurdle.

The handicapper has eased him 4lb in the ratings following that mistake. This will be the gelding's seasonal reappearance and he would have benefited from having a rest over the summer. Expect to see him pick up where he left off with more glory over hurdles.

LiveScore Selection: Albert's Back
