There are two jumps meetings taking place in the UK on Monday afternoon, one of which is from Carlisle.

There are seven races from the Cumbria venue, with the action beginning at 12.30pm.

The official going is described as 'Good To Soft', 'Soft' in places on the Hurdles course and there are showers forecast to fall throughout the afternoon.

We have picked out five horses for you to follow.

LiveScore Five To Follow at Carlisle on Monday.

12.30pm - Watch Racing TV Now Maiden Hurdle (2m1f)

On what was his opening career start, HIDOR DE BERSY looked very professional when he scored in a National Hunt Flat race at Huntingdon (2m) back in March.

He prevailed in that 16-runner field by two lengths, finishing the contest strongly.

Tom Symonds's runner is now embarking on his novice hurdles campaign and on the evidence of his sole appearance on the track, he could have a smart future.

His breeding suggests he should have no problems now he is over obstacles.

LiveScore selection: Hidor De Bersy

1pm - Racing TV Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m4f)

MIDNIGHT RIVER won three of his six starts last season over hurdles, finishing the campaign at the highest level with a run in the Grade One Sefton Novices' Hurdles at Aintree.

Unfortunately for his connections, he came down three hurdles from home when in with a big chance, and the six-year-old has since had a wind-op over the summer.

Although he has yet to gain any experience over fences, he is the highest rated horse in this field by some distance.

It is going to be fascinating to see if he can advance to the top as a chaser, and this looks a good starting point for him.

LiveScore selection: Midnight River

2.10pm - Durdar Graduation Chase (2m)

It was a far from perfect round of jumping from MINELLA DRAMA on his chase debut at Uttoxeter (2m) but he got the job done, scoring by over eight lengths.

Donald McCain's runner excelled at the back end of the 2020-21 campaign. There may also be a lot more to come from this horse as a chaser.

The Uttoxeter winner should be much sharper than many of his rivals here and he will be receiving weight from his biggest challengers. He has a great chance to follow up with success.

MALPAS took a huge step forward on his opening start of the season when he scored at this course over the shorter trip of 2m1f.

That was his second outing since having wind surgery back in March and it's clearly made a big difference.

Donald McCain has opted to step his horse up in trip here at the scene of his triumph.

He was full of running at this finish so it is likely he will appreciate this stiffer test.

LiveScore selection: Malpas

3.10pm - Watch Irish Racing On Racing TV Handicap Chase (2m4f)

Like many of Venetia Williams' runners, Frenchy Du Large enjoyed the heavy ground at Ludlow last time out when scoring for the first time, although the six-year-old is unlikely to get heavy conditions here.

One horse who will have no problems with the faster ground is UPTOWN HARRY, who comes into this race following success at Perth (3m) last time out.

Jane Walton's runner is 5lb higher in the ratings, but this is a mark which remains well below his best, so it should not stop him from having a good shot at doubling his tally over fences.

LiveScore selection: Uptown Harry
