Brighton vs Wolves predictions: Slick Seagulls can see off in-form visitors
- Both teams have scored in all eight of Brighton's Premier League wins this season
- Wolves have conceded the first goal in 10 of their last 13 away league matches
- Recommended bet: Brighton to win and Both Teams to Score
Brighton kept their first clean sheet in 24 Premier League matches in a goalless draw at West Ham last time out but the Seagulls should return to their usual swashbuckling style in Monday's home game against Wolves.
They have won their last four meetings with Wolves by margins of 3-0, 3-2, 6-0 and 4-1 and they warmed up for their return to league action with a 4-2 victory at Stoke in the FA Cup third round.
Wolves have also been in fine form, beating Chelsea, Brentford and Everton in the league before a 3-2 extra-time triumph against the Bees in Wednesday's FA Cup replay, so an entertaining game is expected on the Sussex coast.
Team news
Brighton's Igor Julio is a doubt so Jack Hinshelwood and Pervis Estupinan should start in the full-back positions.
Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra are on international duty while Ansu Fati, Joel Veltman, Julio Enciso, Tariq Lamptey and Solly March are injured.
Wolves are missing top scorer Hee Chan Hwang, who is at the Asian Cup, as well as Africa Cup of Nations representatives Rayan Ait-Nouri and Boubacar Traore.
Jonny remains out of favour and midfielder Joao Gomes is suspended.
The stats
Both teams have scored in all eight of Brighton's Premier League wins this season.
The Seagulls have kept only one clean sheet in their last 24 league games.
Five of Brighton's last 11 league matches have ended 1-1.
Wolves have won their last three league games.
Sixteen of Wolves's last 21 matches in all competitions have featured over 2.5 goals.
Wolves have conceded the first goal in 10 of their last 13 away league matches.
Prediction
Brighton have won their last four Premier League meetings with Wolves, scoring 16 goals, and they can claim another high-scoring victory over Monday's opponents.
The Seagulls' progress has been hampered by too many draws recently but they thumped Tottenham 4-2 in their last home league fixture and should prove too slick for Wolves.
While Brighton have had two weeks of rest after their cup win at Stoke, Gary O'Neil's visitors were taken to extra-time in Wednesday's FA Cup replay against Brentford before a Matheus Cunha penalty sealed a 3-2 victory.
Both teams have scored in 17 of Wolves's last 20 matches in all competitions and the last two exceptions were December's 3-0 defeat at West Ham and 3-0 home win over Everton.
Goals are on the cards, then, when Wanderers travel to the Amex Stadium and Brighton, whose first eight league wins of the campaign all featured goals at both ends, are worth backing to triumph in another eventful contest.
