- Brighton have not beaten the Citizens in their last six meetings
- Man City have never lost four games in a row under Pep Guardiola
- Recommended bet:
Both teams to score and over 3.5 total goals

Brighton will be hoping to pile the misery on Manchester City when the pair clash in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

The Citizens suffered a humbling 4-1 Champions League defeat against Sporting Libson last time out, making it three losses in a row in all competitions for the reigning English champions.

With injuries hitting City hard, there is perhaps no better time to face Guardiola's troops and Brighton will see this as a great chance to pick up their first win over the blue side of Manchester since May 2021.

Team news

Brighton have a lengthy injury list with Adam Webster and James Milner both on the sidelines until the end of November, while Solly March remains unavailable.

Joao Pedro, Yasin Ayari, Matt O'Riley, Yankuba Minteh and Lewis Dunk are all doubtful and will be assessed closer to the game.

Ruben Dias is not expected back until after the international break for City, who are also set to be without John Stones due to a foot injury.

Jack Grealish is also next due back until the next round of internationals, while Oscar Bobb is pencilled in for a January/February return and Rodri is out for the season.

The stats

Brighton are without a win in their last three matches, drawing against Wolves before losing back-to-back games with Liverpool (Carabao Cup and Premier League).

The Seagulls have failed to score in just one of their 13 fixtures in all competitions this season, with over 3.5 goals landing in eight of those contests.

City's 4-1 loss at Sporting in midweek extended their losing streak to three games. The Citizens have not lost four matches in a row since 2006.

Guardiola's side have scored in all eight away assignments this term, while they last failed to hit the back of the net on the road in December 2023.

Prediction

By City's high standards, three defeats in a row is a mini-crisis and Guardiola will be desperate for his side to arrest this slump in form when they head to the south coast.

The Spanish tactician has never tasted defeat four times in a row since taking the reins in 2016 and he will not want that record to come to fruition as City head into the international break.

Despite the poor form, it is hard to back against the Citizens, but it is also difficult to side with them, so the best option here is to go with plenty of goals in an end-to-end encounter.

Brighton love to attack under Fabian Hurzeler and that has profited 17 goals in the league, but they are fragile at the back with 14 strikes conceded and City can expose them.

The Citizens still have plenty of attacking options to choose from and this promises to be a thrilling affair.
