Leeds lead the way in the Championship as they bid to return to the Premier League at the second time of asking ahead of a trip to Blackburn on Saturday.

The Whites’ away form has been mixed this season with just three wins in eight games (D4, L1) but this trip to Blackburn offers a chance to pick up another road success.

Rovers won their first five games at Ewood Park but are now winless in three in East Lancashire and have lost their last two, failing to score in both of those defeats.

Team news

Blackburn boss John Eustace has confirmed both Arnor Sigurdsson and Balasz Toth will not be ready to make their respective returns against the league leaders this weekend.

Scott Wharton and Zak Gilsenan are long-term injury victims, while Andreas Weimann may not be involved after missing the win over Middlesbrough last time out.

Leeds defender Joe Rodon is suspended and Joe Gelhardt is doubtful, while the visitors will definitely be without Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu.

The stats

John Eustace's Blackburn have failed to score in any of their last three home games, losing the last two

Leeds have won 10 of their 17 Championship games, losing twice, while they score on average 1.8 goals per game.

Blackburn have failed to score in four of their last six games.

Leeds have won four of the last five head-to-head meetings with Blackburn, which includes the last two played at Ewood Park.

Prediction

Blackburn started the season with five wins in their opening five games at Ewood Park but have managed just one point from their last three at their home ground.

Rovers do come into the game on he back of successive away wins but one of those came against a poor Cardiff side and they rode their luck a little at Middlesbrough last time out.

Leeds’ away form has been a little patchy but they have been in great scoring form overall in recent weeks. The Yorkshire outfit beat Luton 3-0 last time out and have scored nine goals in total across their last three games.

Leeds go into the game as favourites and may be able to win with a bit of breathing space here.

Backing Leeds to win by two or more goals appeals as when they do win they usually do so convincingly. The visitors have enjoyed 10 wins in 17 Championship games this term and eight of those victories have been by more than one goal, while Blackburn have failed to score in their last three home games, which includes back-to-back 2-0 defeats.
