- Arsenal have scored 30 goals in their last 10 home league games
- Manchester United lost all six away matches against other top-seven clubs in 2022-23
- Recommended bet: Arsenal to win 3-1

Arsenal and Manchester United's last four Premier League meetings have been won by the home team by either a 3-1 or 3-2 scoreline and another high-scoring encounter looks likely on Sunday.

United's defence struggled to contain Wolves and Nottingham Forest in their first two home games either side of a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham which extended last season's woeful record against top-half teams away from Old Trafford.

Arsenal have not hit top gear yet this season, beating Forest 2-1 and Crystal Palace 1-0 before conceding a late equaliser against 10-man Fulham last weekend, but the visit of the Red Devils may well inspire last season's runners-up.

Team news

Arsenal are missing Jurrien Timber and Mohamed Elneny but strikers Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus are fit.

Takehiro Tomiyasu returns from suspension and may be preferred to Oleksandr Zinchenko at left-back.

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund could make his debut and Tottenham loanee Sergio Reguilon is also available.

However, deadline-day signing Sofyan Amrabat was not registered in time for the Arsenal game and Mason Mount, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are injured.

Twenty-three of Arsenal's last 25 home Premier League matches have had over 2.5 goals.

The Gunners have scored 30 goals in their last 10 home league games.

Bukayo Saka has scored in Arsenal's last three league meetings with United.

Manchester United conceded 29 times in nine away matches against top-half teams last season.

Both teams have scored in the first half in three of the last four league meetings between these clubs.

United lost all six of their away matches against other top-seven clubs in 2022-23.

Prediction

Arsenal and Manchester United were involved in a couple of cracking games in last season's Premier League, with United winning 3-1 at Old Trafford before Eddie Nketiah's late goal gave Arsenal a 3-2 home victory in January.

Arsenal's home matches tend to produce plenty of goals at both ends and the 3-1 correct score, in the Gunners' favour, appeals in a contest between two leaky defences.

United, missing the injured Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw on Sunday, conceded twice in the opening four minutes of last weekend's 3-2 home win over Nottingham Forest while Arsenal's rearguard was breached in the first and 87th minutes of their draw with 10-man Fulham.

The Gunners pose a serious attacking threat, averaging three goals per game in their last 10 home league fixtures.

However, both teams have scored in 15 of their last 18 wins at the Emirates so United, who are set to unleash summer signing Rasmus Hojlund up front, can get on the scoresheet.
