Transfer Talk: Man City step up Paqueta pursuit after De Bruyne injury
Manchester City have made Lucas Paqueta their No1 target after Kevin De Bruyne limped off in their Premier League opener.
Pep Guardiola's Citizens have reportedly already seen a £70million offer snubbed by West Ham.
But talkSPORT claim Hammers chiefs are not confident of keeping Paqueta as City look to plug the gap left by their main creative spark.
De Bruyne left the field 23 minutes into the 3-0 win over Burnley on Friday night with a hamstring injury.
Speaking after the win, Guardiola confirmed: "It is the same place and position as the Champions League [final] and he will be out for a while."
West Ham have already lost talismanic skipper Declan Rice this window and David Moyes will not want to see another key figure depart early in the season.
The Scot's frustration is likely to be increased by the Hammers' struggles in the window, with Edson Alvarez their only signing so far.
Deals for Southampton creator James Ward-Prowse and out-of-favour Manchester United defender Harry Maguire are believed to be close.
But The Sun are reporting that England star Maguire is yet to agree personal terms over a London Stadium switch.
