Andy Robertson has been a revelation at Liverpool.

Signed for just £8million from Hull in 2017, the left-back went on to win it all and become a key player in Jurgen Klopp's team.

But with Klopp set to leave and Robertson turning 30 tomorrow, rumours have emerged of potential interest from Bayern Munich.

We look at where his future might lie ahead of Liverpool's huge clash with Manchester City.

Reliable Robbo

Robertson's return to action in January after three months out with a shoulder injury was a big boost for Liverpool.

The Scotland international provides a level of experience and quality few players in the Premier League can match.

And his relentless energy up and down the left flank is key for the Reds in both attack and defence.

Before this gameweek, Robertson ranked in the Premier League's top 10 players for chances created per 90 minutes (2.79) and possessions won in the defensive third per 90 (3.83).

Only Kieran Trippier and Alfie Doughty had completed more crosses per 90 than the Glaswegian (2.61).

That creative outlet on the left flank remains a key ingredient for a Liverpool side targeting an unprecedented quadruple this season.

And Robertson staying fit between now and the end of the campaign will be crucial, given Liverpool's well-documented injury woes.

Paper talk

Andy Robertson remains one of Liverpool's most creative players

Robertson's contract does not expire until 2026, so there is no immediate need for Liverpool to be concerned about losing him.

However, there have been reports that the club will open negotiations over a new deal this summer.

Speculation linking Robertson to Bayern appeared after the news left-back Alphonso Davies is expected to join Real Madrid.

Whether a move to Bavaria would appeal to the Scot is unclear — but remaining on Merseyside after almost seven years at the club seems likely to be his preferred option.

The biggest question mark is whether Klopp's departure prompts some of the team's longest-serving players — Robertson included — to seek new challenges.

But as things stand, Liverpool are in a strong position to keep hold of their dependable left-back.

Liverpool loyalty

Liverpool's attacking full-backs have been a prominent feature under Jurgen Klopp

Robertson's recent comments suggest he remains fully focused on success at Anfield.

Speaking after Klopp announced his decision to leave, he said: "We have to use it in two ways. We have to park it to some extent while the fans can be emotional.

"But we also want to give him [Klopp] a farewell. We know he's taken the club back to where it belongs and we know he's leaving us this summer — and we want him to have a great send-off.

"It gives us extra motivation. But we must not get carried away by emotions. We have done that very well since the announcement of the news and we have all got a handle on it.

"The last game of the season will be emotional for the manager and his staff and all the fans. But as players we still have a job to do."

As Liverpool fans bid farewell to Klopp, they will hope there are no more unexpected departures to come.
