Taunton is one of two National Hunt meetings scheduled to take place on Tuesday and the Somerset venue is hosting a seven-race card.

The action begins at 1.15pm and the meeting runs through to the final race at 4.45pm. The official going is described as 'Good To Soft', 'Good' in places.

Here are our five horses to follow.

1.15pm — Injured Jockeys Fund Novices' Hurdle (2m3f)

Former Flat raider DOCTOR PARNASSUS made an impressive start to his hurdles career when he scored by 10 lengths at Ascot last month. He finished that race strongly which suggests he will appreciate this stiffer stamina test.

The four-year-old is going to be receiving 7lb from the rest of his rivals here due to his age, so it is a great opportunity for him to double his tally.

2.25pm — Invest Southwest Supporting Love Musgrove Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2m½f)

WALK IN CLOVER moved to Dan Skelton's yard last month and she made a winning start for her new trainer at Leicester, prevailing by 20 lengths in a novice hurdle contest for mares over 1m7½f.

The Lodge Hill runner made all and came home at a canter, although this assignment will be tougher as she has a 5lb penalty to defy.

There should be more to come from this five-year-old as she has clearly improved for a switch in surroundings.

3.00pm — Taunton Kia Supporting Love Musgrove Handicap Chase (2m7f)

Former Grade One winning chaser SLATE HOUSE produced his best performance for some time when he finished second of six at Wincanton (2m4f). It was first time he had hit the frame since December 2019 and the first-time blinkers seemed to make a big difference.

If this horse reproduces anything near his best form, he will take some beating in this handicap chase off this mark of 132.

3.35pm — Mike Morgan Electrical Services Supporting Love Musgrove Handicap Hurdle (2m½f)

Dr T J Eckleburg is looking to strike from bottom weight

DR T J ECKLEBURG made a promising debut over hurdles when he came home in second place at Newbury (2m½f). He then built on that performance to break his maiden at Ludlow (2m). He was not fluent over all of his obstacles, but he came home well ahead of his rivals.

The four-year-old is the youngest horse in this race and the most unexposed. The two-time Flat winner has a bright future over hurdles, and he can add to his tally from this bottom weight.

4.10pm — Cheltenham Festival Preview Evening 11th March Novices' Handicap Chase (2m2f)

Jane Williams' gelding FOLLY GATE is still a maiden after 12 appearances. This horse switched back to fences on his last outing at Warwick where he came home second of 15 runners. It was just his third start as a chaser.

The handicapper has given him another helping hand by easing him 1lb in the ratings. In what looks to be a weak contest, Williams' novice chaser may be able to go one place better on his return to a course he knows very well.
