- Millwall have failed to win any of their five away matches

- Recommended bet: Draw

Swansea are in 14th position in the table, with a 0-0 draw at Sheffield Wednesday in midweek being the fourth consecutive game in which they failed to score and the fifth match without a win.

Millwall are a point behind the Welsh club in 13th after a 1-0 home win against Plymouth Argyle on Wednesday.

Team news

The hosts will be without the injured Andy Fisher, Kristian Pedersen, Josh Ginnelly and Eom Ji-Sung for this game.

Publicidad

Calum Scanlon is the only absentee for the visitors, with a back injury set to keep the on-loan youngster out until 2025.

Duncan Watmore should return to the starting line-up for the Lions, after missing the win over Plymouth for family reasons.

Millwall boss Neil Harris has seen his team concede just one goal in their last three games.

The stats

Swansea have only scored eight times this season, which is less than any other Championship club, with every other team having at least broken into double figures.

Millwall are unbeaten in three games, drawing with West Brom and Derby, before their victory against the Pilgrims.

Publicidad

Only second-placed Burnley and Sheffield United in fifth have conceded fewer times than Swansea, who have only shipped seven goals in 11 outings.

Though Millwall have failed to win any of their five away games this season, they have drawn three of their last four matches on the road.

Prediction

It’s pretty clear what Swansea need to do to kickstart their season, considering that their defensive record is so strong.

If they can just start finding the net, then Luke Williams’ team should swiftly climb the table, but they have now gone seven hours without a goal.

Swansea’s xG for the season sits at 11.7, yet while that number is not particularly impressive, the lack of proven goalscorers in this league looks like the biggest problem for Williams, whose Notts County team were prolific scorers.

Millwall made a poor start to this campaign, but they have now lost only one of their last six games, winning two and drawing three times.

Neil Harris’ side may be improving, but they are still to win an away game, with their last victory away from The Den coming in this fixture back in May of last season.

The combination of the paucity of goals in Swansea’s games, combined with Millwall’s tendency to draw, makes the stalemate the likeliest result.
