Jill Scott will wear the captain's armband when England take on the World XI at Soccer Aid 2023. 

White, 36, called time on her career last year after helping the Lionesses to glory at Euro 2022. 

But the former striker, who netted 27 goals in 161 caps for her country, is dusting off her boots to lead a star-studded side featuring Karen Carney, Gary Cahill, Jack Wilshere and Jermain Defoe at Old Trafford.

The I'm a Celebrity winner said: "The Euros, the jungle and now Soccer Aid for UNICEF — it's the holy trinity! 

"I've won two of them, so just need Soccer Aid now to complete the treble. 

"I think of all three, this might be the one I'm most nervous about — just look at the names involved. Buy a ticket, support this amazing cause and cheer us on."

Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere, 31, added: "I'm really looking forward to lacing up my boots again and playing with some old friends. 

"I can't tell you how good these legends are and I'm told a few of the celebrities are quite handy as well. 

"As a father to young children, taking part in this game has extra significance for me — and I would urge people to buy tickets and show their support."

Having not won Soccer Aid since 2018, the Three Lions have unveiled one of their strongest line-ups for this year's edition, with more names set to be announced in the coming weeks. 

Soccer Aid will be broadcast live on ITV1, STV and ITVX. UNICEF UK ambassador Dermot O'Leary will be joined once again on presenting duties by Alex Scott, UNICEF UK high-profile supporter.

Since 2006, when UNICEF UK ambassador Robbie Williams co-founded the concept, Soccer Aid for UNICEF has raised over £75million to help give children all over the world a childhood full of play. 

Last year's event, hosted at the London Stadium, raised a record-breaking £15m.
