Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is ready to give his all for "one of the biggest clubs in the world" after completing his move to Liverpool.

The 21-year-old lynchpin arrives at Anfield from Bayern Munich to add some much-needed depth to Jurgen Klopp's engine room.

There were some fears that the deal would fall through after Joao Palhinha's failed move to the Bundesliga champions, but Gravenberch has successfully made the switch to Merseyside.

After signing a five-year contract, he said: "I'm very happy. Very happy that the deal is done and I'm finally here.

"If you see it from the outside, it's one of the biggest clubs in the world. Also the fans, the stadium, I think everything from the outside is top. So that's why [it was the right club].

"I'm really looking forward to [being at Anfield] and I can't wait to hear the You’ll Never Walk Alone song.

"Now we start fresh again, a new start, and I'm going to give my all for this club. [My ambitions are] to win prizes. To win prizes, play a lot and show them who we are and who I am."

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel admitted in a press conference today that the time was right for the midfield maestro to move on.

He said: "He [Gravenberch] wasn't happy with his situation here as he sees the chance in Liverpool to fight for a place in a 4-3-3.

"He's wanted to go for a while. An offer came in, we discussed it. The outcome is clear."

Gravenberch is Liverpool's fourth major signing of the summer following the arrivals of Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo.

The Reds are undergoing a significant midfield revamp after the departures of former captain Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Eleven-cap international Gravenberch spent just a year at Bayern, joining the Bundesliga champions from Ajax last summer.

He started only three league games for the Bavarians in 2022-23 and will hope to get regular playing time under Klopp's tutelage.
