Rohit Sharma hailed India's bowling unit after his side hammered Pakistan in Ahmedabad.

Jasprit Bumrah starred as Sharma's side bowled out their rivals for 191 in the first innings — a collapse from 155-2 — including the dismissal of key man Mohammad Rizwan with a devilish off-cutter.

India's captain then smashed 86 off 63 deliveries in the run chase to seal the deal but was happy to heap praise on his team-mates.

He said: "There's no doubt about it, the bowers were the ones who set the game up for us.

"Restricting them to around 190 was a great effort. I don't think it was a 190 pitch and at one stage we were looking at 270 or 280.

"The way they have come back and shown grit tells us a lot about all these guys who were out there in the middle for us.

"Whoever gets the ball does the job for the team and that is something we speak about a lot. We've got six individuals who can do the job for us with the ball.

"It cannot be everyone's day every day so the guys who are having a good day need to make sure they are getting the job done for the team."

Rohit Sharma in the field against Pakistan

Sharma backed up his 131 against Afghanistan last time out with another brutal knock, denying Pakistan any chance of defending their modest total.

But the 36-year-old is refusing to get too excited about his own form or his side's 100% winning start to the competition.

He said: "It's looking good but we don't want to get too excited.

"We want to stay balanced moving forward and that is the key.

"We're playing a World Cup, which is such a long tournament. Nine league games, a semi-final and a final.

"We have to stay calm and keep moving forward."

India are next in action against Bangladesh on Thursday while Pakistan take on Australia on Friday.
