Pontefract's seven-race card is our focus on Sunday

Sunday's top racing action comes from Yorkshire as Pontefract hosts a seven-race card headlined by the Listed Highfield Farm Flying Fillies' Stakes over six furlongs at 3.10pm.

There are some leading lights across from Ireland for the occasion, with trainers Aidan O'Brien and Jessica Harrington targeting the race.

Conditions at Pontefract are set to be good to firm-good in places for the card, which runs from 2pm until 5.25pm.

And we have picked out five horses for you to follow.

2pm - Trevor Woods Memorial British EBF Novice Stakes (5f)

This opening race appears something of a match between WHERE'S DIANA and Bloomington Bride on paper.

The latter represents Kevin Ryan and has shown enough in three starts to suggest there are races to be won with her.

But her most recent Thirsk third was slightly underwhelming as she was well-held eventually.

Roger Fell's April C&D winner Where's Diana could be up to giving her 6lb now.

She found a Listed race too hot at York in May but then ran a good fourth at Catterick in June when shipping weight to the field.

That race has worked out well and she has got more to come after a short break.

2.35pm - Mary Clark 'favourite Day Of The Year' Handicap (1m4f)

Boltaway is unbeaten in handicaps for Roger Charlton, while Kings Prince and Arrow Of Gold are potential improvers, but POSSIBLE MAN can take this out for Sir Michael Stoute and Silvestre De Sousa.

The legendary trainer has a 28 per-cent strike-rate at Pontefract over the last five years, while SDS has ridden more winners here than anyone else in that time-frame.

Possible Man came out best in a sustained duel with State Of Bliss at Nottingham (1m2f, good to firm) and, with that form well-advertised since, holds excellent claims now from just a pound higher.

3.10pm - EBF Stallions Highfield Farm Flying Fillies' Stakes (Listed, 6f)

Lovely Breeze has been in excellent form over the six-furlong trip

Jessica Harrington's Valeria Messalina is due plenty of respect and takes a class-drop here while also reverting to 6f.

She has plenty of speed in her armoury and could find this test ideal.

One worth taking a close look at is LOVELY BREEZE for Hugo Palmer.

The Sepoy filly has posted impressive figures since dropping to this six-furlong trip and had something up her sleeve when landing a Glorious Goodwood handicap last time.

This is a much sterner test of her credentials but she may have more to offer still.

LiveScore Selection: Lovely Breeze

4.20pm - Moor Top Farm Shop Hemsworth Handicap (2m1f)

ARABESCATO was a winner here over 2m2f back in the spring under Silvestre De Sousa and can go well now reunited with the same rider for the first time since.

John Butler's charge put up solid efforts afterwards and Doncaster and Lingfield and he can be easily forgiven a sub-par effort last time in a better race at Ascot.

Teqany, a confident winner at Chester last time, is a massive danger, while winning machine Out Of Breath must prove his stamina if hoping to complete a six-timer.

LiveScore Selection: Arabescato

4.55 - Happy Retirement Mick Henshaw Novice Stakes (1m)

David O'Meara's ALPHA CRU won a C&D maiden three weeks ago and is fancied to go well again now.

The daughter of Australia did well here last time as the only runner to emerge from the pack and challenge front-running Bluewater Lady.

She got there just in time and is fancied to build on that run now in what looks a weak enough contest.

LiveScore Selection: Alpha Cru
