Manchester United boss Marc Skinner dedicated his team's 5-0 win at Everton to the late Sir Bobby Charlton.

The England and Red Devils legend sadly passed away at the age of 86, with both teams paying tribute to him before kick-off in Sunday's Women's Super League fixture.

Braces from Rachel Williams and former Toffee ace Nikita Parris helped secure an emphatic victory for United, the perfect response to their Champions League exit at Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the week.

After the game, Skinner said: "Everton are a good team and I know the scoreline is big but they made it difficult for us.

"I thought we were brave and every player who came in to play and on the bench supporting were magnificent.

"That win was dedicated to Sir Bobby Charlton, Lady Norma and all the family members.

"He changed football in my opinion, especially at my club, so that was for him and for his family."

Skinner heaped praise on his team's stellar performance, which was kickstarted by a 14th-minute opener from on-loan forward Melvine Malard.

The United boss added: "I thought we were excellent.

"We've had a tough week going out of Europe, we only had a day to prepare for this game and we have had some sickness in the camp with several players missing out.

"I couldn't give them more credit. Their resilience and togetherness was excellent, particularly when Everton got through us.

"We had to think quickly and communicate with each other and there are a few different languages in our team."

United's next match after the international break sees them travel to Brighton, before they host West Ham on November 12.
