Luton vs Burnley predictions: Clarets to burst Hatters' bubble

Fresh from securing their first-ever Premier League victory against Everton last time out, Luton will be aiming to make it back-to-back wins when they welcome Burnley to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday.
Saturday's 2-1 success at Goodison Park was also enough to lift the Hatters out of the relegation zone and they will have renewed belief heading into this rearranged fixture.
For their part, Burnley are still awaiting their first league victory of the season, but the Clarets have a good recent record against Luton and will be hopeful of ending their Premier League winless run in Bedfordshire.
Team news
Luton captain Tom Lockyer opened the scoring against Everton before being withdrawn with a facial injury, but he has played down the severity of that issue and could keep his place in the starting XI.
Fellow defender Reece Burke was also withdrawn for unspecified reasons at Goodison and could therefore be a doubt, while Albert Sambi Lokonga (thigh), Gabriel Osho (knee), Jordan Clark and Dan Potts (both ankle) all remain on the treatment table.
Burnley will be boosted by the return of forward Lyle Foster following suspension, while Johann Berg Gudmundsson could also come back into contention after missing Saturday's loss at Newcastle with a calf issue.
However, Michael Obafemi (hamstring), Hjalmar Ekdal (knee), Darko Churlinov (blood poisoning), Benson Manuel (ankle) and Nathan Redmond (unspecified) are all still unavailable.
The stats
Luton have taken one point from their opening two home matches in the Premier League, with their last top-flight home success coming against Aston Villa in April 1992 when goals from Brian Stein and Mark Pembridge helped them to a 2-0 win.
Burnley boasted the best away record in the Championship last season and their only point in the top flight this term has also come on the road — a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest — while they have also beaten Forest and Salford on their travels in the Carabao Cup.
The Clarets have won on their last three trips to Kenilworth Road, with Luton's last victory, home or away to Burnley, coming in March 2000.
Prediction
Luton will be buoyed by their victory over Everton, but Rob Edwards' side still had to ride their luck on Merseyside and may struggle against a Burnley team they have a poor recent record against.
Vincent Kompany's Clarets have been playing better than results have suggested following their return to the top flight and they have also faced a testing opening six fixtures, coming up against the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa, Tottenham and most recently Newcastle.
Those are unlikely to be the matches that define Burnley's season, but an away trip to Luton could be and the Clarets have won on their last three visits to Kenilworth Road, most recently claiming a 1-0 victory in February thanks to an Ashley Barnes penalty.
Tuesday's contest could be equally as tight and cagey, but Burnley will feel they have enough about them to claim their first league win of the campaign and simultaneously bring Luton back down to earth.
