Ful of optimism

Sasa Lukic is looking forward to helping Fulham continue their impressive form.

The Serbian midfielder has been handed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further 12 months after being snapped up from Torino for an undisclosed fee.

And he is itching to get started in the Premier League with the Cottagers, who currently sit seventh in the table.

Lukic, 26, said: "I'm very happy to have signed and to now be a part of Fulham's squad.

"I can't wait to get started and meet with the head coach, the players and the staff. I'm looking forward to training with them when I arrive in England.

"I've seen Fulham play this season and they've been playing very well. They have a good squad, with a great history.

"A lot of great players have played for the club and they have a lot of great players currently, like my compatriot Aleksandar Mitrovic."

Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan added: "I'm delighted to welcome Sasa. He's a talented and versatile midfielder who we've followed closely for years.

"His arrival will strengthen our team. I'm glad that he's come to Fulham and I expect he'll flourish in our squad under the great coaching of Marco Silva."

Palace bag midfielder

Crystal Palace have signed Stuttgart midfielder Naouirou Ahamada on a three-and-a-half-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The France youth international, 20, began his career in the Juventus academy before moving to Germany two years ago.

Speaking to Palace's website, he said: "I'm very happy to have joined this club. It is an amazing club and I'm very excited to get started.

"I want to show my quality and I want to help this team. I want to play games, work hard, train hard, progress and help the team."

Eagles chairman Steve Parish added: "We feel that his profile, skill set and character make him an ideal fit for Crystal Palace and the demands that await for him in the Premier League."

New face in Toon

Harrison Ashby has traded West Ham for Newcastle

Eddie Howe could not hide his delight after Newcastle signed promising West Ham defender Harrison Ashby for an undisclosed fee.

Ashby, 21, has represented Scotland at Under-21 level and made seven senior appearances for the Hammers across all competitions.

Toon boss Howe said: "Harrison is a very talented young player with a lot of potential so we are delighted to sign him.

"He has very good attributes so we are looking forward to working with him in this exciting new chapter of his career."

Ashby, the son of former Brentford, Watford and Gillngham ace Barry, added: "I could not be happier. I can't get the smile off my face and it's a proud day for me and my family.

Publicidad

"I'm buzzing to come to the game [against Southampton] tonight, to meet the fans and to get a taste of the atmosphere.

"I wouldn't be here today without West Ham so I thank all the coaches I had from growing up to now, but I'm delighted to be here."

Felipe joins Forest

Nottingham Forest have signed Atletico Madrid defender Felipe.

The Brazilian, 33, who has won league titles in Portugal and Spain, will stay at the City Ground until the summer of 2024.

After signing, he told Forest's website: "It was a dream of mine to play in the Premier League and I'm really excited to be part of this wonderful, fast-growing club.

"You can see it's a club looking to really grow. It's a big challenge for me and I made a clear decision to be part of the history here and grow with the club."

Under the knife

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has undergone knee surgery.

The Egypt international, 30, injured his right knee in training ahead of the 2-0 win at Tottenham earlier this month.

A statement from the Gunners said: "Mo has had successful surgery in London and will be ruled out for an extended period of time.

Publicidad

"A more detailed timescale will be established once the early stages of rehabilitation have been completed.

"Everyone at the club will be offering Mo all the support he needs and working hard with him so he can return to action as soon as possible."

Elneny is out of contract this summer but the Premier League leaders have an option to extend his deal by another year.

Roma seal Llorente deal

Roma have snapped up Leeds defender Diego Llorente on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent deal.

Llorente, 29, has played just 13 times in all competitions this season, finding himself behind Liam Cooper, Robin Koch and recent Whites recruit Max Wober in the defensive pecking order.

In the Bag

West Brom have snapped up Nathaniel Chalobah

Nathaniel Chalobah cannot wait to get started at West Brom after joining Carlos Corberan's side on an 18-month deal.

The midfielder, 28, opted to leave Fulham for the Baggies after finding his first-team opportunities limited so far this season.

He said: "I'm really happy to be here. I heard about the club’s interest in me a little while ago so I’m glad to finally get the deal done.

"Ever since I heard about the interest in me I obviously started following the club's results a lot more. I've been watching plenty of the games recently and from what I've seen it's been pretty good.

"I definitely see so much potential in this team. I see that there's a talented group of players here and I just want to play a part in everything."

Perez ships out

Ayoze Perez will spend the second half of the season on loan at LaLiga side Real Betis from Leicester, subject to league and international clearance.

Perez, 29, who has played 13 times in all competitions for the Foxes this term, joined the Midlands outfit from Newcastle in July 2019.

Spence out on loan

Tottenham right-back Djed Spence has joined Ligue 1 side Rennes on loan for the rest of the season.

Having made six appearances for the North Londoners, Spence will link up with Spurs team-mate Joe Rodon, who has been on loan with the French side since the beginning of the campaign.

Buzzing off to Greece

Sergi Canos has switched to Greek Super League side Olympiacos on loan from Brentford.

The Spanish winger, 25, who has played 249 times for the Bees, will remain in Athens until the end of the season.

Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: "We would like to wish Sergi all the best for the second half of the season.

"He has not played as many games this season as he would have liked and this is a great opportunity for him.

"We have the option to extend Sergi's contract in the summer so it is very possible we will see him back with us."

Injury KO's Eriksen

Manchester United expect Christian Eriksen to be sidelined until late April or early May with an ankle injury.

Eriksen, 30, left Old Trafford on crutches last Saturday after a tackle by Reading striker Andy Carroll.

A United statement said: "Christian is expected to be out of action for an extended period because of an ankle injury sustained in our FA Cup victory over Reading.

"Our Danish midfielder was withdrawn in the second half of the 3-1 win after being caught by a tackle.

"While investigations are continuing, initial assessments indicate he is likely to be out until late April or early May."

Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag added: "Of course he’s disappointed about it, we are disappointed about it.

Publicidad

"But it happens in top football. We'd rather it didn't happen but it did and you have to deal with it.

"You can’t make policy on such bad injuries but we have good players in the midfield department. We have players who can fill that gap."

Morris the boss

Swindon have confirmed the appointment of Jody Morris as first-team head coach.

The former Chelsea midfielder Morris has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal at the County Ground and succeeds Scott Lindsey, who left for the Crawley job earlier this month.

The new Robins boss, 44, said: "This is a great opportunity at a wonderful football club that is steeped in history and I can’t wait to get started.

"I'm extremely proud to be leading such a forward-thinking club, with an owner and technical director that are passionate and committed to bringing success here.

"We now turn our attentions to an important 19 league games, with promotion at the forefront of our ambitions, and we want to take this incredible fanbase on a long and successful journey."

Swindon currently sit sixth in League Two.

Flying high

Norwich have signed Arsenal winger Marquinhos on loan for the rest of the season.

Publicidad

The 19-year-old Brazilian, who will wear the No13 shirt at Carrow Road, said: "I'm really happy to arrive here in Norwich and very excited to play my first game.

"I've learnt a lot as part of my adaptation in England. It's totally different to Brazil. It's more intensive but I'm adapting well in order to help Norwich.

"I'm really happy to get to know a new club, a new culture and a new city. The fans can expect that I'll show desire."

Canaries boss David Wagner added: "We're delighted to have been able to add Marquinhos to our group.

"He is a young and exciting wide player who wants to learn and further continue his development."

Anderson joins Sunderland

Sunderland have signed Everton defender Joe Anderson, 21, on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the option of a further 12 months.

Black Cats boss Tony Mowbray said: "Joe fits the profile of player we want to keep adding to the club and we look forward to supporting his development in a senior environment.

"He will add immediate competition and depth to our squad and is going to be a real long-term asset for the club."

Not Gunner happen

England star Alessia Russo will not be trading trade Manchester United for Arsenal

Arsenal have ended their interest in Manchester United striker Alessia Russo.

Publicidad

The Gunners were ready to break the world transfer record to land the England star before the Women's Super League transfer deadline at 5pm GMT.

But United are unwilling to sell Russo and have not given up hope of extending her deal, which expires in the summer.

Russo, 23, has scored 17 goals in 35 WSL appearances for the league leaders since joining from North Carolina Tar Heels three years ago and netted 10 times in 17 caps for the Lionesses, including four during their Euro 2022 triumph.

Raring to go

Malo Gusto is looking forward to making an impact at Stamford Bridge

Malo Gusto is confident his pace and direct style will be an asset to Chelsea.

Full-back Gusto, 19, will finish the season on loan at Lyon after joning the Blues from the Ligue 1 side last weekend.

But he is already looking forward to challenging Reece James for a spot on the right of Graham Potter's defence.

Gusto said: "I play right-back, I'm a fast player, crosser and box-to-box defender.

"I chose Chelsea because it's a very big club and I like the project. See you soon!"

Spurs swoop

Tottenham have snapped up 19-year-old striker Jude Soonsup-Bell from Chelsea.

Publicidad

Although Soonsup-Bell was highly regarded at Cobham, the teenager opted to continue his career elsewhere after entering the final six months of his deal.

And Spurs will hope he can help their struggling development squad, who are currently second bottom in Premier League 2.
