Jurgen Klopp will be paying no attention to Manchester City's clash with Brighton — despite Liverpool going top of the league last night.

The Reds' 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United saw them move two points ahead of the Citizens, having played a game more.

Pep Guardiola's side host Brighton at the Etihad tonight looking to reclaim their lead — not that the German will be watching.

Klopp said: "It's really not likely. City we might play again, I don't know, but Brighton I am pretty sure we don't play any more, so it's not likely.

"Hopefully, I have something to do which makes more sense."

Midfield general Fabinho feels Liverpool's victory at Anfield has increased the pressure on Premier League champs City.

And he revealed he would be watching the clash, even though focusing on Sunday’s Merseyside derby with Everton was at the forefront of his mind.

The Brazilian, 28, said: "First of all, we have to focus on our games and try to win every game that we have. Now, maybe City have a little bit of pressure.

"We have to try to recover, recover the legs. We will have a day off — it'll be important for us.

"Me personally, I will watch Man City's games but as I said, we have to focus first on our games and try to win our games."

The perfect display

Fabinho believes the display against arch-rivals United was "near-perfect" as the quest for a Quadruple continued on Merseyside.

He added: "Now, we play just important games.

"Of course the three points are always important, but we want to play good football, we want to play our best football, to be on the highest level of intensity, play with quality on the ball because we have a lot of quality in this team.

"It was, if not perfect, almost a perfect game. It was a big game for our fans as well, so it was important to put a performance like this against a team like Man Utd.

"It's really good for us and for confidence as well."
