Liverpool fan and Her Game Too director Roopa Vyas believes the 2023-24 season could be the start of a new era for the Reds.

Trent's opportunity

Seeing Trent Alexander-Arnold named vice-captain, it feels like the start of a new era for us.

It is the right thing for him and the club, even though a lot of people doubted his ability.

Klopp has clearly thought about the decision long and hard. He knows giving Trent that extra responsibility is really going to help him shine next season.

Trent looks physically stronger and has great players by his side to influence him.

But there is no doubt Virgil van Dijk deserved to be named captain.

A few people have said he has not performed the best with the armband on but he is the only true leader we have left at the club.

Attacking options

My front three for the start of the campaign? Mohamed Salah has got to be in without a doubt.

Luis Diaz has got a lot of potential and we saw a bit from him when he came back from his injury last season.

So I would probably say Salah, Diaz and Diogo Jota.

But Klopp is probably going to test the waters and see what works.

Luis Diaz missed a large chunk of last season with injury

The kids are alright

Curtis Jones had a really good end to last season.

At times he has come through, been called a star boy and then dropped off but I feel losing players such as Jordan Henderson and James Milner gives the youngsters a chance to prove themselves.

There have been times when Jones and Harvey Elliott have been under a lot of scrutiny on social media and that comes with being a Liverpool player.

But this season is really their chance to shine and show people the talent they've had all along.

High expectations

Top four is a must but I want to win some trophies — and I feel like the Premier League could be one.

Why not? I'm now feeling so hopeful. We have got rid of some players that are maybe past their prime, which gives us a chance to come out firing.

So maybe first or second, although I would just love to see Manchester City not in first place.

Partnership

I support Liverpool because of my dad but his brother is a Manchester United fan — as is my older brother.

The first game I watched was the 2003 League Cup final against United in Cardiff, when I was six.

Fast forward to this year and I was trying to keep things under wraps about the club announcing the partnership with Her Game Too.

So when Liverpool's article dropped in May, I just burst into tears.
